Visited 2016 and again in April 24. Hotel is perfectly situated on the overcliff and the staff and service are all excellent. Our room 101 was looking in need of a lick of paint but was otherwise just fine (cleanest shower glass ever seen!). Breakfast was hot and plentiful although served as a buffet which is not as indicated by the the laminated card in the information pack. We also had a lovely cream tea served on the first day of our stay. We booked for dinner for the second day of our stay and unfortunately had to share the reception/bar area with a huge noisy crowd of union members celebrating something. They were so loud that we had to have the dining room door closed and chose not to sit in the bar area after dinner. This was the only downside of our stay.

Hotel function areas were all very nice and pleasantly presented. Breakfast was organised and stocked up with many food requirements. Our room was comfortable but looking very tired. The main problem we saw was the lack of staff, you’d be greeted on reception in a morning by a lady who then popped up serving your breakfast and then looking after guests in the bar area.
Other Comments
Tables in breakfast area all need levelling as they all wobble while taking your breakfast. Guest were all using place mats to pack them.

We had a lovely king size room. Breakfast and afternoon tea were excellent. Unfortunately one of our party had a cardiac arrest on check out day. The staff were very helpful and concerned.

Really enjoyed our stay at the orchid . Very close to the beach and lots of restaurants nearby . Hotel was great and meal we had was a bit overpriced for what it was .bu still good . Breakfast was good to . Defiantly will go back
