Beautiful grounds although could be better kept (huge weeds!). Lovely setting for the tea but weird having a huge slab of cake (should be petit fours, really). Good scone and sandwiches.

Went for a friend’s birthday and our anniversary. Booked to go round Abbey which was lovely and afternoon tea was most enjoyable

Thoroughly enjoyed the beautiful surroundings. Thought the afternoon tea would benefit from greater variety/choice and better presentation of sandwiches and cake. Also the Orangery was extremely hot, despite the fans so eating outside on the terrace would have been a most welcome option. Very friendly staff

The afternoon tea was fine with the travelzoo discount but not worth the full price. The grounds are lovely but the orangery where we had the tea was too hot . There were a few fans dotted around, but none directed at where we were seated so it was rather uncomfortable. One other guest complained loudly to us when we tried to turn one towards us despite us having endured the heat for an hour without a fan. Rather selfish we thought , but she was obviously uncomfortably hot too.

It was quite difficult to find the venue. The staff were all very good and we tipped well.

Enjoyable but it was a very hot day so Orangery almost intolerable. NOT enough fans were available but I do appreciate the heat was abnormal and it would be costly to legislate for that. Perhaps a few tables and umbrellas outside for such weather conditions would be the answer
Other Comments
Apart from sandwiches, which were okay, I got the impression that all the cakes, scones etc were bought in but acceptable for what we paid. The grounds were lovely and more than compensated for the very average food.
