Why We Love This Deal
The Old Ferry Inn is a 400-year-old riverside property with uninterrupted views of the Fowey Estuary. It was in The Times's list of 100 Best Places to Stay in Britain last year. A 2-night weekend break at this historic Cornish bolthole is £179 for Travelzoo club members.
What's Included
- Valid for Friday and Saturday arrivals from 1 November, 2024–30 March, 2025
- Two nights' accommodation in a Standard Double room, with daily cooked breakfast, for two
- A main course each from the dinner menu on the first night (worth £18 per person)
- Upgrade to a River View Double room for an extra £40 or River View Junior suite for an extra £60, payable direct to the hotel
More Reasons to Go
- Take in sweeping views of the river from the bedrooms, restaurant, or the west-facing terrace.
- The Old Ferry Inn overlooks the estuary of the River Fowey and the Bodinnick-to-Fowey ferry. A ferry service has been running there since the 13th century.
- The ferry crossing is open to motorists and pedestrians, and is part of the Hall Walk. A circular walking trail along the Cornish coastline, it has striking views of Fowey Harbour.
- Fowey, across the river from the inn, is a picturesque port town with several historic sites. Visit St Catherine's Castle, an artillery fort built by Henry VIII in the 1530s.
- After a day of exploring the coast, relax by the log fire with a local ale or a G&T. The inn has its own distillery, producing gin, vodka, rum, and tequila on the premises.

How to Book
Click "Continue" to purchase your voucher(s). Then contact the hotel directly to complete your reservation.
- Parking is a challenge in Bodinnick and the ferry queue can get quite long at certain times. Parking up and walking over on to the ferry is recommended if you are coming from Fowey. There is a small council car park and limited spaces on the roads around Bodinnick. The inn has a residents-only car park, however you may have to park a 5-minute walk away.
- Children are not able to stay as part of this offer.
- Dogs can stay for a £12.50-per-night supplement, payable direct to the hotel. The fee includes a doggie bed and locally sourced treats.

Ok pub , currently undergoing building work. Dog friendly good food and excellent breakfast. Staff friendly. Room was a bit small and facilities were ok.
Had to use the ferry to get anywhere as nothing else on the bodinnick side. Wouldn’t return as not really what we like.
Other Comments
Was expensive for the dog per night and the upgrade room was not as good as we expected

We had a beautiful double aspect newly built bedroom looking over the river.
The ambience in the pub was excellent with roaring wood burner and their own brewed beer and gin.
Breakfast was one of the best we’ve had anywhere and staff an absolute delight.
Just one little thing, the dining room was a little bare- floor, tables and walls.., a bit utility. How about warming it up and making it a bit more dining room - carpets, art work, nice tables etc , and less ‘pubby’ - just a thought. ’

The Ferry Inn - in a word it was 'underwhelming'
Even before we arrived I had tried to book dinner and the hot tub - left a msg but the answer machine did say they are not open all week - so I sent an email as directed on the answer machine, but this was ignored!!
No towels and broken door knob on wardrobe in our room to start with - this was rectified but we shouldn't have had to raise these issues and on the way to trying to find someone I nearly slipped on a step from the grit from the building work that we were not told about
The hot tub was not ready at 3pm, it hadn't even been lit at 3pm, we were told it would be ready in a few hours, then 2/3 hours later we were told that it wouldn't be ready till 7.30pm/8pm when I queried this and showed the laminated information on hot tub times (3pm-8pm) I was told the information was 2 yrs out of date???!! - we eventually got to use the hot tub at 7.30pm but it was cold and as it was dark there was no view of course (which was the main reason for booking this break) - we also had to ask for robes as these were not in our room either, their excuse being there is usually a tuck shop next to the hot tub where we would pick up our robes, but they hadn't got this ready either!! So we had missed relaxing in a hot tub in the lovely weather (it rained the next day) so we sat in the dark in a cold hot tub (which was only 34 degrees) and there was way too much chlorine in it
The bathroom had no heating and no heated towel rail so it was freezing and the next day our towels were wet from the night before
Breakfast was awful, no printed menus, cheap bread, my bacon sandwich looked very sad the croissants were awfully dry.
From the minute we got there we felt like an inconvenience, it seems Paul was only interested in making money not giving us the relaxing experience we were hoping for, we expected decent food that looked and tasted good and a warm hot tub

The bar is quite rustic, , the rooms are nice enough, the inn is very old, beautiful view from our room, bedding, towels etc, very good, the breakfast was delicious, the location was beautiful but remote, the staff were friendly, ferry charge is £10 return. We loved it but I'm not sure it would be for everyone

Very friendly place to stay and we felt like part of the local scene and not just a visitor.

The owner is definitely making this a good destination to stay and his staff were all very hospitable and informative. Lovely walk on the doorstep "The Hall Walk"" which takes in 2 ferry crossings, one to Fowey and the return to Bodinnick
