Good instructions to car park for our arrival. Free parking in city centre location. Hotel bedroom was comfortable and clean. View from bedroom was poor, but that was okay as we weren’t spending much time in the room. Bathroom was good with good quality towels and plenty of hot water.Breakfast was good, dinner was very good. An enjoyable stay for our purpose of visiting friends in the area.

A lovely old hotel with ample parking. Check in and out were simple. A Good selection of wines. Various places to sit for a drink. Three course set menu had several options. My husband and I chose different options and they were equally good. Breakfast was well cooked. All the staff were extremely helpful and pleasant. Service was good. Room was a reasonable size. A little updating wouldn't go amiss. We really enjoyed our stay at the hotel but the surrounding areas were a little different to what we are used to. The cathedral was beautiful. The square around it, not quite so.

Good value. Hotel was completely covered in scaffolding so didn't hold out much hope, but once inside it was OK. Was scammed a bit with their cocktails but did bring it to the managers attention. Hotel was nice but Peterborough is not, would never go again.

We've been to this hotel as a couple on may occasions now.
The hotel is in a perfect location - the main shopping centre is directly opposite the the hotel, the cathedral and main square is just around the corner, and the bus station and railway station are both within very easy walking distance. There are also 2 theatres withing easy walking distance.
The hotel has a lovely, refurbished, beautifully decorated bar, creating a cosy, welcoming, ambiance. The restaurant also has a nice ambiance, and the food is excellent.
Other Comments
The only downside is the number of homeless people who appear on the streets and square in the vicinity in the evening, which some may find a little intimidating.

All aspects at the hotel were good except that the fire alarm sounded at 0120hrs on the first night. We evacuated. After return the alarm sounded twice more. No satisfactory explanation was provided so it was a sleepless night.
Other Comments
Other than above the hotel is lovely, the food was excellent and the bar a treat. Also well located for the cathedral and town.

Most of the Staff were quite approachable. But no explanations about fire alarm or apologies/explanations were provided. Good drink selection. Rooms tidy.
Other Comments
The Hotel attracted quite a lot of ASB - three fire alarms in one night. We seemed to be a burden stopping there on Good Friday - basically breakfast was thrown at us. Very noisy on the corridors and difficult to get sleep. Area where the Hotel was terrible - really anxious about stopping around in and around the Hotel. Food was basic to say the least.

We stayed for two nights to celebrate my husbands birthday and to meet up with relatives who live in the area. The hotel is a great locations for the shops and close to the stunning Cathedral. It is very nicely decorated and well kept, it was just a pity that there was a lot of scaffolding up on the outside due to work in progress as it does have a nice looking frontage. The bar area was very nice the room’s immaculately clean and well decorated. Food was plentiful and the staff were really lovely. Nothing was too much trouble.

Really good value deal and a lovely set menu 3 course dinner on our first evening. The breakfast was generous - the hot breakfast was served up but additional items were offered as was a refill of your coffee pot. All the staff were friendly at this hotel and service in the restaurant and bar was excellent. The room was fine and a very quiet location right in the middle of town for exploring.
Other Comments
The only slight issue was the noise of the self closing hotel room doors - we had neighbours who seemed to come and go several times between 1am and 2am and it was noisy and felt like our room shook when they went in and out at that time. Shame as room was so quiet otherwise.

We had stayed before. It offers wonderful value for money, we had a delicious three course dinner and two days of great breakfasts.
Finding the carpark is always a problem, even though we had been before!. Getting out of the car park was also a problem this time with the number plate recognition not working. The rooms are rather dated but had all the facilities you could need for a short break. Air conditioning great for me as always hot at night

We all complained about the main course of our evening meal on the Sunday evening. It was appalling. We all ordered the belly pork roast. It was certainly not what you would give a child, very small and slovenly dished up. We complained to the waitress at the time and to the manager this morning. Otherwise a very good stay.

There was a fire alarm at midnight on our first night and although all guests moved down towards the entrance the bar was full of drinkers and then a staff member said sorry it was a false alarm as a smoker was caught in a room? No staff anywhere / fire safety very poor with some guest leaving next day.
