  • Villiers Hotel is in Buckingham's town centre, a few minutes' walk from shops and restaurants. There are several historic local buildings to explore. There's the 18th-century Old Gaol, the Medieval Chantry Chapel, and the Old Town Hall.
  • Dukes Steakhouse Bar & Grill serves hearty, locally sourced dishes. Dukes Bar has flagstone floors, an inglenook fireplace, and original beams. It makes for a snug spot to kick back with an ale. Al fresco dining is also available on the courtyard terrace during the warmer months.
  • Visit the National Trust sites of Stowe Gardens, Claydon House, and Waddesdon Manor. They are all between 10–30 minutes' drive of the hotel.
  • Bletchley Park is a 25-minute drive from the hotel. It was once the headquarters of the Allied codebreakers during the Second World War.
  • Silverstone Circuit is less than 15 minutes' drive from the hotel. Bicester Village outlet shopping centre is 25 minutes' drive away.

We opted to dine in the Duke's bar. Maybe it was a one off poor night for the kitchen, or maybe there is a problem. Our starter was Ok and but then we had over an hour wait for the main course. The steak was good but the vegetable tart had to be sent back as it was very overcooked and the pastry was so hard it was difficult to cut.. I had 3 options . Another tart would take 15 minutes or I could have a steak more quickly or I could have the over cooked tart. I opted for a steak which took about 15 minutes to appear by which time my husband had finished his meal. This was not relaxing or enjoyable meal. The waiter did mention that the chef was on "a sticky wicket" as lunch service had also been problematic.

Restaurant is a steak house. As such the menu is limited. Although the food is very good there’s not much variety so if you were staying multiple nights you may not wish to eat here each night.

Great welcome from Dominique on reception. Very nice deluxe room. Food was excellent and all the staff were so friendly and helpful. Good location, too. Interesting town.
