Why We Love It

  • The Edwardian property was built in 1903 for John Nettlefold, a pioneer of housing reform in Birmingham, and it remains "tremendously warm" and "welcoming" today — "quite different from the distant feel of more aristocratic abodes", according to Northampton Chronicle
  • Inspired by the work of Gertrude Jekyll, the Grade II-listed gardens are home to over 6000 different plant species and feature a Japanese bridge and a nut walk
  • The "gardens are a stunning spectacle all year round", according to Real Homes, which named Winterbourne Gardens as one of the top 10 British gardens to visit
  • At Winterbourne, you'll find yourself in a "leafy oasis" (Northampton Chronicle), less than 15 minutes' drive from Birmingham city centre
  • This offer is valid until November, 2021, so you have plenty of time to visit

Enjoyed a wander around the lovely gardens even if the season is a little dormant. The house was closed for Covid reasons but hope to go back in the Spring when it should be open.

We always enjoy going to Winterbourne Boranic Gardenz at any time of year. But have not been in 'Acer time and autumnalcolour' So glad we did. The house is closed due to COVID-19 but when it's open it is a great house to go round the cafe was open with delicious sandwiches/rolls etc. The terrace overlooking the gardens is a pleasant place to sit' eat and relax.
