Patisserie Valerie dates back to 1926, when husband and wife team Theophile Vermeirsch (a pastry chef) and Esther Van Gyseghem opened their first Belgian patisserie in Dean Street Soho.
The handmade cakes and pastries are created using traditional recipes and authentic methods.
There is no need to book your experience, just turn up and use your voucher at your preferred venue, between now and the end of March.

The sweet treats on the afternoon tea menu is no way near as good as their actual cakes and treats they sell as individual slices/pieces sadly :(

Travelled with family members for a special occasion 50 miles to have Afternoon Tea, only to be told they are not offering it although venue was open. Had to give the vouchers to a friend as we couldn't use them.

We arrived when they were the cafe was quite full and were told it would be about half an hour before food arrived as they were so busy. We decided to sit at a table anyway and start with the tea while we waited. After about only 10 minutes our afternoon tea arrived and it was really fresh, delicious and very filling. We took two of our scones home as we were so full. The scones were so fresh, mine was still warm. Service was very good and friendly personnel. The only thing that let it down was the ripped furnishings, which were in need of refurbishment. But overall, a very nice experience and very good value.

The cafe itself was unappealing, more like a railway cafe, uncomfortable seating, staff left us waiting for service, when afternoon tea eventually arrived the choice of sandwiches were poor, scones hard with one pot of clotted cream which was insufficient. The cakes were small but okay so was the tea but all in all it was not of the standard expected. If I'd paid the full price I would have sent it back and asked for a refund. We just found it was a very poor budget afternoon tea and wouldn't return.

Service was excellent from our server - but unfortunately she was by herself in the shop with somebody elsewhere in the building making up the afternoon teas. It was busy with everyone wanting the same as us. Luckily we were near the start of the queue but as more came the waiting increased. Felt sorry for the woman coping with orders and drinks in the shop.

Terrible service. Not enough staff on duty. Ran out of teapots. Manager sat in corner on laptop and did not help his staff. Heard him being rude to staff when they asked him a question. People were asking for refunds or walking out due to poor service and wait time for food and drink. When it did arrive, the afternoon tea was delicious

We had no problem getting a table. The staff were courteous and attentive. The sandwiches were ok but thinner bread might have been better. The scones were lovely, served warm. We would have preferred clotted cream to whipped cream. The cakes were delicious.

We visited the Cheshire oaks store and it was a really enjoyable experience however we previously attempted to use our voucher at the Winchester store and came up against poor customer service,no scones or sandwiches available and told to expect a long delay and as a result left without using our voucher totally different experience in the Cheshire oaks store Pleasant staff who couldn’t do enough for us

We went to the Bromley cafe, first impression was it was very cafe like, I expected it to be a bit more pretty and warm. I did enjoy the afternoon tea, it was very tasty, the service was good. The teapot was chipped and a little bit stained. But other than that I enjoyed the experience.

Lovely afternoon tea, great value. We were told that the restaurant was due to have a refurbishment. It definitely needs it. The upholstery on the chairs is torn and looks awful. I tried calling ahead and the phone rang and rang. We were advised it's because it's down a flight of stairs with 2 doors between!

We went to the Bridge Street branch in Cambridge. We were turned away as there was only one staff member and she couldn’t cope. We were sent to their other branch in Fitzroy Street where again we were told they couldn’t cope as they had a party of 34 coming. We explained we had travelled from Hertford and had been turned away from their other branch so they reluctantly agreed to serve us. When the afternoon tea arrived we were told they might have to take the cake stand away as it would be needed for the people coming. We had finished our tea before the party of 34 Japanese tourists arrived.
