About the Hotel
Why We Love This Hotel
- This modern 4-star city hotel is opposite the Eurostar and TGV station
- It has sleek, contemporary interiors created by one of France's best-known designers, Philippe Starck
- The property is approximately 15 minutes' walk from Place Rihour -- the site of the city's popular Christmas market (22-30 December, 2019)
- Lille's enchanting old town is a prime showcase of French and Flemish architecture, and is teeming with shops, restaurants and museums
Lille is about "magnificent French and Flemish architecture, renowned art museums, stylish shopping, outstanding cuisine" with a nightlife scene to match, according to Lonely Planet. The modern Hotel Crowne Plaza Lille Euralille is in the centre of the city, right opposite Gare de Lille Europe, which is served by Eurostar ad TGV trains.
The old town is a few minutes' journey away by a variety of public transport options: Metro, trams, buses all stop outside the property. You can visit Place Rihour, home to La Vieille Bourse, the former stock exchange dating from 1652. It is also the scene of the annual Christmas market, one of the largest of its kind in France, with 90 wooden chalets dressed in festive decoration, offering arts, crafts and regional specialties (end of November-end of December).
The Musée d'Histoire Naturelle is one of France's most important natural history museums and is right next to leafy Jean-Baptiste Lebas park. Lille has an almost 70,000-strong student population, and as a result there's a thriving nightlife scene. In 2020 the city is set to become the World Design Capital with festivities and exhibitions throughout the year.
The hotel interiors were designed by Phillipe Starck. Expect "shiny floors, and a well-stocked cocktail bar open until midnight" (The Daily Telegraph). There is a restaurant and a fitness centre within the premises. Executive (Deluxe) rooms are on the upper floors with views over the city. They provide Wi-Fi, mosaic-tiled bathrooms, and Nespresso machines.
