Overview
This 4-star, family-friendly resort sits on 27 acres of tropical-inspired grounds and is loaded with tons of activities and room to relax. The River Ranch water area is fully equipped for a full day of water play, featuring various pools, lazy river and a large waterslide. Parents can enjoy a day of golfing or relaxation at the spa while the kids have a blast at the on-site day camp. Other recreation options include tennis, basketball and mini golf. There are three on-site restaurants, including Rico’s American Grill and Slim Pickens, which both offer American cuisine and casual dining. Hole-In-The-Wall serves dinner and overlooks the pools and waterfall with a view of the mountains.
Guest rooms have a contemporary design, featuring neutral tones with pops of Southwestern accents. They are equipped with custom Hilton-designed beds and linens, flat-screen TVs, minifridges and coffee makers. For convenience, guests can skip checking in all together by opting for digital check-in and keys.
The highly regarded Desert Botanical Gardens is just a 20-minute drive from the resort, filled with colorful plants and flowers and various hiking trails. The Phoenix Zoo sprawls across 125 acres and is just a five-minute drive from the Desert Botanical Gardens. Camelback Mountain, another crowd favorite, offers views of both Phoenix and Scottsdale. There are also a handful of hikes around the mountain, some easier than others; trails are open from sunrise to sunset.

The hotel was nice, but certain parts were either out dated or not working- 2 of the 3 open hot tubs were not working, a couple of fountains were not working either. The waterpark looked fun, the mini golf needed some repair but was enjoyable. Room was nice and spacious. Overall a good value for what we paid.

Hotel was was past its prime. It was easy to see this used to be a nice resort but it’s fallen on hard times over the last 10 years (not due to Covid).

I really enjoyed my stay. The water park was a blast, the staff is incredibly friendly, and the room was super clean and spacious.

Staff were great, only issue is that the rooms are tired looking. Wish they had designated floors or areas of the resort where pets were never allowed. I had issues with my asthma in the first room, but they were wiling to deep clean and move us to another room.
