Royalty and nobility have flocked to this part of central France for centuries. If it's "French splendour, style and gastronomy you seek, the Loire Valley will exceed your expectations", says Lonely Planet. With castles, vineyards and scenic views aplenty, the valley has become one of the most visited destinations in France and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
On the bank of Loire River, Domaine de la Courbe is a farmer paper mill turned into a charming hotel where people can easily reach many great historical and regional sites. Château de Lude, one of the oldest Loire Valley castles, is less than 10 minutes' drive from the hotel. Zoo de la Flèche, made up of many animal and plant species, is about 15 minutes’ drive.
Domaine la Courbe has a swimming pool, a Spa, a library and a restaurant with views of the River Loire. You can also rent a bike to explore the landscapes around and attend a tour in canoe or kayak on the river, to La Fleche village.
Rooms have views of the garden or the river. Wi-Fi is free.
