"very quirky hotel with a no alcohol bar and a small restaurant. Some of the staff didn't seem happy or friendly, but others were. They happily loaned us a charger adapter as this hotel has the 3 smaller hole electrical sockets, and we only had 1 larger 2 hole variety. Breakfast was plentiful and tasty."

Overview

Milan is Italy's business hub, a centre of art, commerce, design, finance and entertainment. It is a "fast-paced metropolis" where "looking good is an art form" (Lonely Planet). The city is well-known for its football teams, such as A.C. Milan and F.C. Internazionale, and it hosts large events, fairs including the Milan Fashion Week.

Hotel Nasco provides an ideal base from which to easily explore different parts of town -- trams and buses stop just outside, while both Domodossola and Gerusalemme underground stations are only a 5-minute walk away. Milano Convention Centre (MiCo), one of the largest conference and event venues in Europe, and the new CityLife Shopping District, where a mall and an open-air promenade is filled with inviting stores and restaurants, is about 10 minutes on foot from the hotel.

A 25-minute walk or a short tram ride can take you to Sempione Park that covers 40 acres and provides a gentle respite from the rush of the city. The 15th-century Sforzesco Castle is adjacent to this green space and houses several museums, such as The Museum of Ancient Art, the Archeological and the Egyptian Museum.

The historic city centre can be reached by public transport, in about 20 minutes. This lively district is home to the Duomo, a gothic cathedral, adorned with spires and statues. The opulent Royal Palace is just a few steps away and serves as a cultural hub, hosting exhibitions. The neoclassical Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, a four-storey shopping arcade nearby, is known for its high-end boutiques and dining options. The world-famous La Scala opera house is another iconic landmark, located in the same area.

The hotel has a bar and a restaurant. Spacious, airconditioned guestrooms are decorated in neutral colours and provide free Wi-Fi, LCD TV and in-room safe.

Other Comments
The hotel was vey near to the Domodossola metro station, which was very reasonable in price. The tram is also close by. There are bars nearby, a fantastic ice cream shop called Raki, a must to try. There are also pizza and kebab shops locally, so you can grab food near to the hotel.
