"We are an active "senior" couple with a dog. We were thrilled to find a hotel that welcomes dogs and doesn't charge crazy additional fees. Immediately upon arrival, the young woman at the desk printed out directions to the nearest park for dog walking. What a find! Kinns Park was just a few minutes from the hotel; great trails and we met other dogs and friendly owners."

Tucked away on a quiet side street between Albany, Schenectady and Saratoga, the Park Manor's wooded environs belie its sophisticated style: Art deco-inspired artwork, vaulted ceilings and a rich gray-gold color palette greet visitors as they walk into the lobby. The posh vibe continues into the guest rooms, too, thanks to plush leather and suede furnishings offset by pops of lavender -- not to mention modern necessities like free Wi-Fi and flat-screen TVs with HBO.

There are also loads of on-site perks like the indoor pool and fitness center, plus the hotel bistro. Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, Seven specializes in seasonally inspired pub fare like beer-battered haddock and wood-fired pizzas -- we recommend the slow-roasted pork and mussels.

The surrounding area is awash in year-round activities: Horse-racing at the Saratoga Racetrack is less than 20 minutes away. Guests can also explore the state capital, Albany, or wander the historic grounds of Union College in Schenectady (both roughly 25 minutes driving, depending on traffic). For outdoor enthusiasts, the hotel is convenient to Saratoga National Park and Mohawk River, plus tons of vantages for taking in the colors during leaf-peeping season.

Park Manor has a wonderful staff and the Seven Bistro was great for dinner and the complimentary full breakfasts. Also, other dining choices close by as is Saratoga Springs.

Took 20 minutes to check in. Mildew smell in shower - shower curtain was disgusting. Poor water pressure. 15 minutes to get an extra blanket. Horrible ‘complementary’ breakfast.

Breakfast experience could have been better....not enough help and out of some food items...tables not cleared. The one server working did a great job under the circumstances.

We liked the room itself. It was very lovely, and clean and the bed was very comfortable. Also the overall appearance of the hotel was great with a nice lobby.

This is the first in my 56 yrs I'm writing a bad review. THE ROOM WAS VERY LOVELY but the facet in the bathroom was broken. Paper thin wall where we were disbursed by the extremely loud neighbor (drunken?) for hours into the night. At breakfast there was 1 person working the restaurant - he was the greeter, waiter, server, busser and also had to replenish the coffee, juice & bread stations. So, as you can imagine had difficulty keeping up... He gave our food to someone else, and we hungrily watched as everyone who walked in after us got served. Finally we ?? And was told the cook lost our ticket and he will put a new ticket in for us. Our breakfast finally came after waiting for about an hour. And yes, no OJ for us bc they ran out (this was at 9am) The night before at dinner was no better. Lol. Again only 1 worker who was also the bartender, but no prob there as the rest wasn't too busy. The caveat however was we got rained on while seated at our table having cocktails and dinner (inside the rest) Apparently, our side of the restaurant leaks when it rains. So we were asked to move to a different table and what do u know that section was freezing cold. Admittedly being wet didnt help, so we left shortly after. But leaky water fell into 1 of our cocktails & onto 1 of our dishes, no offer to comp anything, BUT truth be told WE DIDN'T EVEN ASK. Still, despite the service we tipped very generously both times. Cant blame the poor workers... we chalked it up to BAD management and the rest being grossly understaffed esp in the morning. PS: Ladies, dress warmly if doing dinner in the rest. bring a jacket or a cardigan with you.
