The "diving hub" (Lonely Planet) of Cala en Bosc resort provides the setting for Zafiro Menorca, amid the picturesque beaches and coves on the island’s southwest tip. This all-apartment hotel occupies a modern Mediterranean-style complex with a terracotta façade, and is within a 10-minute walk of the marina, Aquarock Menorca, the island’s biggest water park, and Artrutx Lighthouse, dating from the 19th century. Son Catlar prehistoric monuments and Ciutadella, known for its cobbled streets, historic palaces and Gothic churches, are both about a 20-minute drive away, whilst the capital Mahón, home to one of the world’s largest natural harbours, takes about 45 minutes to reach by car.
Zafiro Menorca opens to a wood-beamed lobby area with a lounge, and offers an outdoor pool, an indoor pool, a sauna and a hot tub. There’s a sports court, a fitness room, table tennis and bike rentals, whilst kids’ facilities include an outdoor pool with a pirate ship, a mini club and a playground. Guest can dine on buffet meals in the restaurant with its terrace area, enjoy light snacks in the poolside bar, and sip cocktails while watching evening entertainment in the hotel café.
Sleeping up to four people, the apartments are decorated in soft neutral tones with tiled floors and wood furnishings. All come with terraces and free Wi-Fi, and offer kitchenettes and living/dining areas with sofabeds. Higher tariff apartments add details such as extra TVs, direct pool access and private gardens with sun loungers.
