Well when we walked in the hotel we were gobsmacked,what a beautiful place.
We thought we had made a mistake until we spied the reception desk.
We were warmly welcomed by a delightful young lady who we chatted to, and told

It was on the small side but delightfull the colour scheme was unusual but suited the room perfectly. We quickly ordered a two week holiday in April then proceeded to the spa.
Goodness me,it was fab, no other word for it ,no one else was in it.
So we had two hours of sauna and steam room,and a dip in the large warm swimming pool.
Heaven,we left and changed for dinner,the dining room is perfect,I can’t describe it
You have to see it yourself. The meal was perfect,and I loved the waiting staff,nothing was too much trouble.I asked about a bottle of wine but I decided I
Didn’t want to spend too much.They never blinked an eye.
The whole meal was perfect.Then breakfast,what a treat a real chef cooked me poached egg on a avocado and salmon.Goodness me, we go out once every three weeks to a hotel and I dread to think how many we have been to.
But this is by far the best,every thing looks new ,or perfectly clean. I can’t thank them enough for our wonderful time with them.

Fantastic hotel. The staff are lovely, the rooms are clean and comfortable. The toiletries included are really nice too. We enjoyed the pool, sauna and steam room during our stay. The changing rooms are amazing with quality products. The restaurant is lovely with a cosy, homely feel about it and again, the staff are attentive and the service quick. The food is delicious and really well presented both at dinner and breakfast. We would definitely return.

Only slight negative was regarding the wine pricing (and I think you can guess that I didn't think they undercharged!). It's not uncommon nowadays though and food and drink prices otherwise absolutely fine and reflected the quality of the offerings.

Overall good. Restaurant food and service good. Felt a bit overpriced £98 for 2 meals. But good quality.
We were woken up at 12:50 by a false fire alarm which meant we didn’t get a good night’s sleep.
Bed comfortable and room very comfortable.
We were unable to get a rubber shower mat and the bath was very slippery, we did ask for a mat on arrival, unfortunately reception could not provide a mat.

Enjoyed our stay very much, would say though that whilst parts of the hotel have been modernised, such as the restaurant, the room we were given appeared quite dated. It was perfectly usable and clean, just dated. The photos on the website did not represent what we experienced even though we paid the £20 extra for an upgrade.

Unfortunately the heating had been turned off in bedroom and it was very cold when we arrived - able to turn it on which helped somewhat. The bar area was very, very cold with no radiators on which meant we didn’t linger and certainly didn5 want to relax there after our dinner.

Everything from check in to check out was faultless. The staff were welcoming and friendly. The room was clean and the decor lovely. The bed was big and really comfy. The facilities are amazing, however, the times that you can use pool and gym are limited to early morning or evening. I didn't use the spa, but it looked really nice albeit a little expensive.
Breakfast was delicious with plenty of choice.

Lovely hotel grounds and outside seating areas. Breakfast was excellent quality. Rooms were spacious and comfortable with a large walk in shower. Didn't eat evening meals but food looked very good. Bar drinks reasonably priced but wine expensive at £11 to £12 for a large one. No its hardly any cheaper if you buy a bottle. We used it as a base to do the Peak District which is a must. Stunning views.

We could not book in till 4 pm and by the time we got in our room it was past 4.30 into the spar by 5 only to get out at 6.30 to change for a pre booked evening meal of 7.15 Paid for late check out of 12 the next day only to be told in the morning we could not go back into the spar area as this was for spar guests today not for hotel guests ??? We booked a spa break and got 1.1/2 hours and a ok bed and breakfast !! Not a good deal on the least no robes no slippers no service in the spar at all and very chilly reception we will definitely not ever go again.

Booked one night in a king size room. 1st impressions was the room was nothing special. It was clean and had 2 chairs. The shower was in the bath which my husband doesn’t like. However, we had a fantastic nights sleep as the bed was really comfortable.
Enjoyed the spa and swim up bar but there weren’t enough sun beds for everyone.
The dinner service and food in the restaurant was really good. Breakfast was lovely and service great again.
Overall we enjoyed our 1 night break and will definitely book again when the next deal comes out.

Absolutely superb experience once the booking issues had been resolved. We checked before booking - via phone - spa access would be available - they confirmed yes. We booked rang to book and they told us to ring back in an hour - we tried for two days with no answer. We eventually emailed and said there was no availability. But hey ho we went along anyway. When we arrived at the spa they said they had six spaces available!!!! We booked and it was fantastic and really recommended. The hotel was great and the meal in the hotel was superb and breakfast was brilliant. Everyone that worked there was so lovely. If they could sort out answering their phone and advance spa booking it would have been 5 stars!

More than exceeded expectations - the spa was fabulous. Will definitely come back Lots of choice for Breakfast. Evening meal was ok - unfortunately I couldn’t eat my main course which was a vegetarian risotto as it was rather wet and was like mushy peas, the starter however was v nice. Great service - staff v helpful and accommodating
Only minor negative was the size of the room - it was a cosy double - and it certainly was cosy - it was difficult moving around the bed etc.
Great location - I caught the train which was so easy as only a few mins walk to the hotel.

Lovely Spa Hotel. Cannot fault our stay at all. Room was comfortable. Staff were friendly and helpful. Atmosphere was excellent. Food was also excellent. I had a treatment in the Spa (Vitamin C Facial) - very relaxing experience (thank you Jake). This is our fourth stay here and we would definitely go back again.

Wonder staff - took time to show me the spa facilities after my treatment which was fantastic…thank you Jake!
The rooms had everything you needed. Breakfast was very plentiful & varied. Our evening meal (Sunday Lunch) was very well presented with plenty of meat & vegetables. A treat on arrival was a glass of Prosecco whilst sat enjoying a very pleasant evening outside in the sunshine.
I shall definitely return to sample again the wonderful varied spa garden, pools & treatments.

Hotel was lovely and staff were really friendly and helpful. We added access to the spa garden to our stay and it was absolutely worth it, the outdoor spa area is beautiful and definitely worth a visit. Indoor facilities (pool, steam & sauna) are great and you can use them as a hotel guest at no extra costs. Changing rooms for the pool/spa were stunning.
Hotel room was lovely, king size bed was extremely comfortable and the restaurant The Stables was great, lovely atmosphere and the food was stunning. Absolutely recommend the hotel whether it’s for a weekend getaway or just a spa day and a meal.

My only little observation was the food didn’t match the feel of the hotel. Some food over cooked, couldn’t even put a fork into a chicken nugget and bacon was like leather.

Our only disappointment is that the Travelzoo offer included discount on spa treatments and so we booked it (on a non-refundable basis) only to find that spa treatments are not available on Tuesday and Wednesday's which were the days we had booked. It is reasonable to expect that this would have been detailed in the offer. Had we known we would have found an alternative spa hotel.

Such a great value Travelzoo offer! Not to be missed. The hotel itself is beautiful, staff are all so friendly and the spa was absolutely sublime! The room was a teeny bit dated but the restaurant was so lovely and comfy we spent most of our time in there, wasn't rushed at dinner or breakfast! For the price we paid we couldn't have asked for any more! If you are considering booking here - go for it!!

Rooms were a wee bit smaller than I expected but comfortable enough. Shower was excellent, very powerful and the towels lovely and fluffy
At first glance the restaurant menu seemed limited but the food was so nice that we ate there on all three nights, the breakfasts were decent too and all of the servers really nice as were the bar staff. Good selection of beers and gins as well as wines.
I would say that the staff make the place and from arrival till departure all of the staff that we came into contact with were extremely efficient, helpful and best of all cheerful so big thanks to you guys n gals for that

Very convenient location close to M6 and only an hour from South Manchester . Quick location is great if you have decided to visit at last minute for a spontaneous break. Lovely interior with many new features and brand new spa . My wife found the treatments superb and the staff meticulous and genuinely skilled in their craft .
Room and building interior very clean and well appointed . Plenty of places to relax and staff very accommodating, friendly and well trained and motivated.
We stayed bed and breakfast in a cosy room . The breakfast was freshly cooked and served efficiently . We had access to fresh fruit and croissants and tasty bread for toasting . We would probably upgrade to a larger room but the room we had was bright , clean and well equipped .
Had some free access to the new spa which was beautiful and of an exceptional standard . Great deal and will go back for sure . Family owned and you can tell that their standards and passion for hospitality and service prevail through and through .

On the whole it was pretty good - mattress was very comfortable and the room was quiet . Limited menu offering on the Sunday night and some of it was quite pricey …ribeye steak £36 as an example and that was for one steak !! One thing everyone needs to be aware of is the compulsory service charge of 10% …I wasn’t informed of that and the staff that night I felt didn’t earn it but I paid it anyway as I didn’t want to make a scene ..just to make it clear the staff weren’t rude or impolite on the Sunday night just a lack of service …however the staff who were involved with serving breakfast were excellent and one in particular that was operating under very difficult circumstances as a result of a very very demanding guest was exceptional and I told her so . If you find the right deal through Travelzoo I think this place is one to visit

Very relaxing. All areas clean and welcoming. Staff were exceptionally friendly & helpful. The rooms were warm and comfortable with Temple Spa toiletries. The indoor swimming pool was realaxing and the changing area very spacious, clean and well equipped with lockers, hairdryer, showers spinner for wet costumes and plastic bags, everything provided.
We had a very tasty evening meal at a reasonable place. Breakfast was plentiful with a good choice.

We stayed here as we were visiting our new Grandson in Stoke on Trent - a perfect location as it was only a 20 minute drive away.
The hotel staff were extremely friendly and helpful and the bed was so comfortable (King sized - plenty of room) and the shampoo & shower soap smelt delicious!
We were lucky that on a Sunday evening we could enjoy a beautifully presented and delicious Sunday Lunch and breakfast next morning was plentiful and perfect to set up us for our long journey home.
Unfortunately we were unable to use the swimming pool (next time!) and the Spa but we will be visiting our son/grandson again soon and would like to book again for this visit! Thank you for a very restful night - it was perfect for us.
