Why We Love This Hotel
The Savoy Palace in Madeira opens in July, 2019, and is west of the island’s capital, Madeira. The 16-story luxury hotel is striking in its appearance, with it’s long, wavy curves, and is a Leading Hotel of the World.
The five-star hotel offers superb views of the large harbour. Enjoy panoramic views of the bay and the Atlantic Ocean from the rooftop infinity pool (adults only), which also has a lounge. The hotel has four bars with cafes and five restaurants, two of them offer buffet style breakfast and dinner.
Shows or live music are offered in the evenings.
The luxurious interior was designed by Funchal-born architect, Nini Andrade Silva. The hotel has warm shades of gold and bronze in a Belle Époque-style.
All rooms have a balcony and are decorated in bright, natural colours with bespoke furniture designed by local artisans. Air conditioning, an espresso machine and electric blinds come as standard.
The hotel’s spa has 11 treatment rooms, a sauna, a steam bath, a salt cave, a jacuzzi, a heated indoor pool and a halotherapy room (extra charges apply). Guests under the age of 16 are not permitted.
Funchal's old town is around 15 minutes’ walk away.
