Rough Guides describes Liverpool as a "dynamic, exciting place" with a "fascinating social history", and Seel Street Hotel by EPIC offers upscale modern accommodation in an ideal spot from which to explore the city's attractions.

Set in the bohemian RopeWalks districts, the hotel opened in December, 2018 and occupies a contemporary building on a street lined with converted redbrick warehouses, a few minutes' walk from Liverpool ONE, a shopping and leisure complex with 170 stores.

Head to the river to see the Three Graces -- the Royal Liver Building, the Port of Liverpool Building and the Cunard Building -- and Royal Albert Dock, which is home to the Beatles Story, the Merseyside Maritime Museum and Tate Liverpool. The Cavern Club on Mathew Street, where the Beatles played their early concerts, is 10 minutes' walk away. Liverpool Football Club's Anfield Stadium, which is open for tours, takes about 15 minutes to reach by car.

Liverpool's two cathedrals are both less than 15 minutes' walk from the hotel. The Catholic cathedral is a crown-shaped space filled with coloured light, while the Anglican cathedral has the biggest nave in the UK and impressive views from its bell tower. St Luke's, a bombed-out church that's now a local landmark, is five minutes' walk from the hotel.

The hotel's guestrooms feature vintage and industrial-inspired furniture, and each has free Wi-Fi, a TV, a mini bar, and tea- and coffee-making facilities. Higher-tariff rooms and suites add details such as designer toiletries, extra-large TVs and private terraces with city views.

Amenities include a fitness room (free to use) and a lounge bar where you can buy breakfast. It also serves cocktails and light bites. A restaurant is scheduled to open in May.

Nice hotel. The drinks were quite expensive but staff were nice and accommodating. The room was quite basic and really quite dark (even with the lights on) but clean and our view was a brick wall but on the whole was great value for money with this offer, and perfect for all our needs. Really good atmosphere so great. Definitely would go again

Receptionist didn’t ask if we’d had a good stay!! If she had , I would have advised that the rooms were incredibly hot throughout the night and kept us awake
