Overview

Rough Guides describes Liverpool as a "dynamic, exciting place" with a "fascinating social history", and Seel Street Hotel by EPIC offers upscale modern accommodation in an ideal spot from which to explore the city's attractions.

Set in the bohemian RopeWalks district, the hotel opened in December, 2018, and occupies a contemporary building on a street lined with converted redbrick warehouses. It's a few minutes' walk from Liverpool ONE, a shopping and leisure complex with 170 stores, and there are also a host of bars, restaurants and nightclubs on the doorstep.

Head to the river to see the Three Graces -- the Royal Liver Building, the Port of Liverpool Building and the Cunard Building -- and Royal Albert Dock, which is home to The Beatles Story, the Merseyside Maritime Museum and Tate Liverpool. The Cavern Club on Mathew Street, where the Beatles played their early concerts, is 10 minutes' walk away. Liverpool Football Club's Anfield stadium and Everton FC's Goodison Park, both open for tours, take about 15 minutes to reach by car.

Liverpool's two cathedrals are both less than 15 minutes' walk from the hotel. The Catholic cathedral is a crown-shaped space filled with coloured light, while the Anglican cathedral has the biggest nave in the UK and impressive views from its bell tower. St Luke's, a bombed-out church that's now a local landmark, is five minutes' walk from the hotel.

The hotel's guestrooms feature vintage and industrial-inspired furniture, and each has free Wi-Fi, a TV, a mini bar, and tea- and coffee-making facilities. Higher-tariff rooms and suites add details such as designer toiletries, extra-large TVs and private terraces with city views.

Amenities include a fitness room (free to use) and Mason's All Day Kitchen & Bar which serves breakfast, cocktails, light bites and dinner from 6pm. Guests can add on breakfast for £10 per person on arrival.

When this hotel is advertised it should be made clear that it is right in the centre of the noisy music area. The music went on till 4 am both nights! Also it is an area for all the homeless people and did not feel safe.

Very nice hotel with helpful reception staff. There was a bit of a problem with our booking in their system but this was dealt with and even included an upgrade for the inconvenience.

Guests need to be aware that the hotel is in the middle of the Liverpool night life district. Very convenient but you do need to accept that there will be some street noise.

The hotel rooms on both occasions were excellent except for one thing. The lighting in the bathroom was poor for a man shaving, and also for a lady in the main room using the hotel mirror for putting makeup on.

From start to finish our whole experience was a great one. The receptionist let us check into our room early as we were heading to the football. The room had everything we needed and was very very clean. Staff were friendly and helpful. We will definitely be staying here again

Rooms although spacious were very dark.THE HOUSEKEEPING was non existent.for the duration of our stay we had no service of the room at all. Beds weren’t made ,wet towels not replaced.tea ,milk coffee not replenished ,no clean cups ,bins not emptied ,nothing. I don’t think anyone came into the room.the first time we didn’t say anything but when it happened the second time we rang reception it was4.45 pm . The cleaning staff had left . a young man on reception came with milk and clean cups . We made the bed ourselves,we asked to speak to the manager the young man didn’t pass on our complaint so next morning when we checked out the manager was in a meeting. We were told to ring later to speak to him . My husband rang the next morning .no manager .told he would ring us . Yes we had a phone back but it wasn’t the manager. When my husband explained what our problem was he has told that he was very sorry and offered us 20% off our next stay at that hotel. Apart from the fact that we have no plans to visit Liverpool (lovely friendly city that it is)in the near future ,why go back to that hotel anyway. We feel that wasn’t quite fair.
