Why We Love This Hotel
- This historic hotel is located in the original Fitger's brewery complex
- The epicenter of Duluth brew culture -- both the Chicago Tribune and Star Tribune list Fitger's Inn as an essential stop for beer lovers
- The waterfront property affords "incredible views of Lake Superior" (Oyster.com)
- The Inn connects directly to Fitger's mall, which includes six dining options, 15 shops and an on-site salon/spa
Blending quaint, kitsch and hoppy, Fitger's Inn lets guests explore one of Duluth's most prominent historical landmarks while sampling small-batch ales from its renovated brewpub, which "arguably launched the city's craft beer obsession" (Star Tribune). The Inn's shoreline property also shares space with an indoor shopping mall, so guests can access dining and boutique shopping, as well as salon/spa services without ever stepping outside.
The hotel's charm leans heavily on its storied past. Baseline rooms are comfortably appointed with queen beds, flat-screen TVs and coffee makers, as well as Aveda bath products. Free Wi-Fi is also available. However, we recommend springing for a Lakeside room in order to get a view of the water.
Guests are treated to complimentary continental breakfast in the morning. Plus, the Fitger's proximity to downtown Duluth (a less-than-20-minute walk from Canal Park) means there's no shortage of dining options for lunch and dinner either. Those looking to explore Duluth's beer scene should consider grabbing a nightcap at Fitger's Brewhouse or noshing on one of their famous wild rice veggie burgers.
