Named after St. Julian, the patron saint of travelers, this new hotel in downtown Chicago hosts guests steps from Millennium Park, the Loop and the Mag Mile. Recently opened in October 2018, this hotel lives in a revamped high-rise rebuilt from the ground up and beyond — it added extra floors atop the former office building to offer rooms with better views.

Rooms feature king or double queen beds with 300-thread-count linens, desks with wireless chargers and USB outlets, along with 55-inch smart TVs with streaming capabilities. Rooms also include handheld steamers to make sure your look is on-point before heading out to dinner or drinks. Wi-Fi is covered under the daily urban fee which also includes business center access, bottled water upon arrival, in-room Nespresso coffee service and access to the on-site fitness center (with Peloton bikes).

The hotel's on-site restaurant, About Last Knife, focuses on steakhouse fare including dishes like steak tartare and Beef Wellington. Breakfast is also served daily and there are happy-hour specials on weekday afternoons. Valet parking is also available. The hotel sits just across the street from Chicago's famous Millennium Park, making this a great place to stay if you're coming to town for a concert, event or festival.

It was great, clean, modern room, great location. A little tight in space, a microwave would’ve been great. Bathroom sink water took a while to get hot. But I would stay again.

This hotel was cute inside and the restaurant and bar area has a nice, cozy atmosphere. Our room was a Vista King and was perfect for the two of us. Excellent front desk service!

Great staff attention. Free bottled water. Able to run the fan all not for white noise. Excellent location. Close to public parking.

While booking it claimed that the room had two Queen beds. The beds are not Queen sized. When I called down to the front desk, thinking I'd been given the wrong room, I was told all rooms with two beds are the same and have "European Queens". NICE - NOT!

The front desk host was cheerful and knowledgeable. Our room and view of the city was top notch. Giant TV. Nespresso coffee maker & most comfortable bed ever made this such an elegant experience.

Location was really great! Would be a nice hotel to stay in during spring and summer months because you will not spend so much time in the hotel. Hotel was clean, bed and pillows were comfy. Hotel did seem newer. Travel Zoo gave this hotel at $85 a night. I don't think its worth more than that. I would have really been disappointed had I paid more per night.

The view from my area of the hotel was of the alley and dumpsters. I hope they do not charge additional for rooms with views. When we arrived the room keys were not working. They said it would work in about 10 minutes. We did not use our keys until the next day and our key still was not working. The rooms are quite close! I was awoken from my sleep by our neighbors tv. Hotel staff tried to call our neighbors room, no answer. They had security and front desk knock on the door with no response. They said they could do nothing further. Listened to the neighbors television for about 3 hours until they finally lowered it down. Since some rooms are so close that should be a last alternative to move someone next door. Rooms were small. It took about 3 to 4 minutes for the shower to get hot. Maybe the room had not been occupied for a while. I was concerned we were not going to have any hot water. Shower was large without any shower bench. Needs more shower amenities for a shower that size, besides a small rack and shower head.
