We had a very nice experience at the Monte Vista. The staff was very professional, friendly, and helpful. My only tip for anyone wanting to stay here is to request a room on the 3rd floor, which is the top floor. Because the hotel is very old (part of the charm), the floors are very creaky and we could hear every footstep the guests above us were making.

This boutique hotel was in a great location. Walking distance to downtown restaurants, shops and pubs. Staff was amazing and very personable. Rooms were small with no TV or extra amenities - however, there was a full lounge for guests with a large TV, sofa and pub table for playing games and relaxing with a group. Arrangement definitely gets you to interact with others during your stay. Was told some rooms had TVs. The thin walls were difficult with noise. We were around the corner from the bar in the first grouping of guest rooms and the noise from the bar carried into our room and we had to call staff to close the door to limit noise. Also, the outdoor seating area with firepit was also right outside of guest rooms so loud guests at night and early morning seemed to be right "with us" at times. The noise containment seemed to be our only complaint.

Instead of staying at a hotel/motel this was a very nice treat for us. The atmosphere was very warm and comfortable. Our room was cute, clean and roomy. There were quite a few places to relax when not in your room. We really enjoyed our stay and will most likely stay again when in the area.

Our favorites, staff, outdoor fire pit area, breakfast, location & restaurants. Things we would change, more than one chair in the room, squeaky floor but we made do. We would definitely go back.

I am ADA and there was no elevator in the hotel. They did move us from a King room on the third floor to a queen room on the second floor, but steps were a problem. No TV in rooms. Old (on intl. historic register) but well maintained hotel. Breakfast wes great!

The outside areas were comfortable and a pleasure meeting the other guest. Would be a beautiful place for a wedding.

The room, furnishings were not comfortable, no tv, no phone. If you needed the front desk you had to go downstairs to the desk. Advertised restaurant but it's not open Monday or Tuesday and no on site vending. Housekeeping did not service our room and insisted I must have had the "privacy please" on the door - nope!

Delightful and courteous staff. I use a walker and the staff was most helpful in areas where there are a few steps. A ramp at the front entrance would be appreciated.

Hotel was remodeled in the ild style, very clean. They allowed you to use the $10 at the bar as the restaurant was closed Monday and Tuesday the days we were there. Very quite, pleasant place within walking distance of town.
