Overview
Sprawling across 3,500 acres of hiking, horseback riding, golf and, of course, vineyards, Chateau Elan fashions itself after a 16th-century French manse, complete with Renaissance-style architecture and amenities even the aristocracy would envy — like the indoor heated pool located in the spa.
This is the perfect place to take advantage of all that this French-inspired spot has to offer. Tour the award-winning on-site winery, indulge in spa treatments, schedule lessons with a golf or tennis pro, or simply relax with a cocktail poolside. There are also six restaurants, ranging from Mediterranean seafood to Irish pub fare and American classics.
Guest rooms, decorated in a neutral palette offset by wood furnishings, feel indulgent yet contemporary thanks to pillow-top mattresses, embroidered linens, light-up vanities and oversize tubs in the bathrooms. Modern amenities like in-room coffee-makers and mini-fridges, plus flat-screen TVs also come standard.

Chateau Elan is our favorite Georgia Staycation. Our stay was perfect! We brought ALL of our linen due to Covid. I felt so much better once I saw how the CDC guidelines were in place throughout the resort. We celebrated our 17th Wedding Anniversary and loved every minute of our stay. I ♡ the remodeling! The staff is always courteous and professional. Mid week is our favorite time to visit. Looking forward to the next visit. RELAXED & REFRESHED

Had a lovely visit to the chateau & winery. Very friendly staff & service in beautiful surroundings. Wines were delicious & the food was very good at Paddy’s. We would have liked to try Marcs, Fleur de Lis & the spa but there was no availability during our stay. Unfortunately due to to the pandemic we decided against booking reservations in advance but I highly recommend it especially on weekends.

Although our room was nice & beds were very comfortable, the toilet moved every time we used it & made very loud noises, room 261 definitely needs some work in the bathroom!!

Lovely experience. But is a resort with resort prices, but a special treat for a weekend. We ate at Paddy’s and the Grille. Staff were all wonderful and attention to COVID-19 very carefully done.

I felt the spa was way overpriced for what was received during COVID. There were no openings to use the hot tub all day. Water and snacks weren’t offered - but they were behind the desk if you knew to ask (I didn’t know). The bathroom showers had hair in large amounts on the drains. I wouldn’t do it again at this time for $169 for a basic facial. The restaurant was gorgeous though!

Everything was good, but the food, unfortunately, was not. Fish was cold, thin, and lacked flavor. When we sent it back the dish was returned without the brussel sprouts that we put on the plate before we sent it back. The steak was tough and overcooked. The seasoning on the food was lacking. The best dish was the Brussel sprouts.

Restaurants: The Marc was very disappointing. Quality of food subpar. Would not recommend at all. Paddy’s Pub was fun and staff was friendly and fun. Food was very good. We had a good time at Louis House of Bourbon.. they carry some high end bourbons. GOLF: golf was excellent. Would highly recommend for golf weekends. Staff very knowledgeable and friendly. SPA: We went during Covid rules so unfortunately not all amenities were available. Will go back to try again. WINE: Enjoyed the wine tasting. With a choice of 7 wines we ere able to enjoy and sample their different varieties.

I planned a family reunion here for a long weekend in conjunction with my son’s golf tournament which was taking place on property. I was frustrated with the service and lack of communication even before I arrived. It was extremely difficult to even reach someone to talk to. After calling and selecting the menu options, I was placed on hold for long periods of time and then hung up on. Then I had to repeat the process again and again. I was told they had higher than normal call volume. There is not a separate phone line for restaurants, front desk or the pro shop.
Once I did get through I was told it was too late in the evening to make reservations at the restaurants and I would need to call back the next day. I did call back yet again only to find out the restaurants were fully booked for Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings. Thankfully I persisted and asked for a restaurant manager to call me back. Max from the Versailles came to my rescue. We ate dinner at the Versailles restaurant twice thanks to the restaurant manager, Max. He and his staff seemed to care about providing excellent service.
The coffee was great at Le Petite Cáfe off the lobby as long as you don’t mind paying $5 for a drip brew. The pool food was poor and I would not recommend it. I love ordering food poolside especially when my kids are with me. I don’t mind spending $15 for a hot dog or burger by the pool but I do expect quality. This food was a disappointment. The menu was limited - pitiful but expensive salads, no option for any type of fish or shrimp in a taco or sandwich option. It was basically a kids menu offering a pizza, burger and hot dog. The Cheeseburger was dry and had zero flavor. My 5 year old daughter ordered the hot dog which came shriveled. Neither were worth $5 much less the hefty price tag. The following day my husband tried the cheese flatbread and said it was good. I enjoyed and recommend the frose. Service was top notch by the pool Friday. Saturday and Sunday were busier and staff had a hard time keeping up.
I highly recommend eating at the pro shop grill, Sarazen’s Bar and Grille. The mahi-mahi tacos were fabulous and my son and nephews said the cheeseburger was one of the best they’d ever eaten. The salad was also very good. We dined in twice and ordered curbside (to take to the pool) and the food and service were on point each time.
We were not able to eat at Marc’s, not because we didn’t want to but because it wasn’t available. Also it closes on Sunday so be aware of that when you book a weekend here.
The hotel has ceased room cleaning due to COVID-19 which is understandable. However, we called 3 times in one day continuing to request fresh towels and extra soap before we received it in the evening. Maintenance came promptly to replace an entryway lightbulb and the mini fridge which wasn’t cooling.
Overall the hotel is beautiful and the renovations are gorgeous. The management needs to work on customer service in multiple areas, attention to detail, and offering the quality of food that matches the price tag. I would not plan another family reunion here because I cannot trust the service or food will be up to par.

We were there 4 years ago and enjoyed the place but now it is much more beautiful. Great job with the renovation. We did request every restaurant while there and was fairly disappointed with the quality of the food. The service was great in all of the places but the food was mediocre. Nothing special, nothing outstanding, and definitely not worth the money. I wish the quality of the food was as high as the quality of the resort.
Other Comments
As mentioned above we wish the quality of the food was better. Especially when going to a resort like this you hope that the food would be great since it is not so easy to venture out for meals. It is great to be able to stay at a place and not worry about leaving it for any reason. But you also want to eat great quality food- especially when the food was not inexpensive. We were also disappointed to see the coffee shop to be closed so early. One evening we were not in the mood to sit in a bar and drink and just wanted to order coffee and teas and sit around and talk and there were no options. Also you have that great space downstairs on the other side of the restaurant that would be great to sit and have coffee and drinks. It would be great if you would have table service there- at least in the evening. We were at the bar/restaurant upstairs one evening and they had to turn people away due to limited seating due to Covid. It would have been great for everyone that was turned away to have another place to drink and socialize. Also we did go to the pub. The food was the best food that we had at the resort but the reatuarnt wasn't that clean. The window seals were dirty and there were big spider webs in some of the corners the windows. But great job with the Covid things that you did at your resort- the camera/temp check at the front door, sanitizers everywhere and the sanitizing touch door stickers.

Overall it was pretty good. You need to go there understanding that you will pay top dollar for drinks and food. However, both were very good. The downsides included: as we found out, masks are NOT required as a number of guests were not wearing them while walking around, the pool chairs are not set 6 feet apart, we tried twice to enjoy a wine tasting after standing in a very long line both times and then being turned away (suggestion: put up a sign that says no tastings available so your guests don't need to stand in line just to be turned away), $16 a night just to self park your car on their large outdoor parking lots is a little crazy, tried to walk the nature trail, however it is not marked well and we gave up.

The pool is nice (but again, the chairs are set too close). The wait staff at the pool is excellent. I wish I would have gotten his name, but the young gentleman (with the longer hair) who waited on us was very very good.

This was not the best stay I’ve had at Chateau Elan. There were a few things that made my stay very unpleasant and unsatisfying. To start, the room I was in, double and one of the beds did not have a sheet. I had to make the bed myself due to COVID which was unacceptable. Also, I was disappointed there were not any courtesy bottled water. I’ve been to Callaway Gardens Resort this summer and they gave 2 bottled waters per day. Last but not least our next door where someone was playing extremely loud music until 10pm. I was surprised the hotel was unable to get them to be quiet sooner. On a good note, I would like to commend Pam at The Versailles restaurant for her excellent customer service.

Overall fair. The staff was generally unhelpful, to get any information required a lot of questions and you would be frustrated to find out basic information about hours or locations. The staff claimed everything could be booked online, however, nothing was available online, but if you showed up to activities, they were always surprised online was not working. Surprisingly, every time we tried to do a wine tasting, they were too full. The room was small but comfortable and clean and the pool and grounds were nice.

Our only complaint was at check in we were very confused where our room was located and took us about 20 minutes to find and not having any bottle water in the room when we arrived .
We plan on going back next year , it was a wonderful 25 th anniversary trip and we met so many nice people even with social distancing.

My sister and I came to Chateau Elan for my Birthday! We had a very relaxing, and fun time here. We rode bikes, went to the pool, went on the wine tour, and worked out in the fitness center. The staff were very helpful and friendly. I will be coming back again, hopefully this COVID thing will pass. I would recommend chateau Elan to my Family and friends.

The hotel is nice, rooms are spacious and nicely appointed. Service seemed “a bit off”, but this could be due to Covid-19 safety regulations. Interesting variety of guests. Many seemed to be “somewhat local” and enjoying the hotel “for the day”. I booked a Premium Winetasting for two in advance for 5:00 p.m. and expected someone to go over the wines and explain them. We simply stood in a line, walked up to a bar and picked one off the menu 7 times. The food was pretty good at the Marc Restaurant, but was expecting more of a “white tablecloth” experience for the prices we paid. We sat on the enclosed patio.

The wait time for food and beverages was consistently too long throughout our stay. I ordered lunch by the pool and the turkey wrap took an hour and a half (just a wrap - nothing to even cook). Then, for dinner, we waited over 2 hours for our food. This was after we learned of all of the restaurants on site, only one was open. (perhaps due to covid but I can't be sure). Also, note that the restaurants close very early! We couldn't order a drink with our dinner after 9pm because the bar had closed. However, I will note that they gave us a bottle of wine on the house for our wait. I encourage people to give it a shot if they're interested in staying, but I did not feel like the value was reciprocated for the price we paid.

It was a beautiful site and facility! The only thing was that it was difficult to find staff members to ask questions. There was no information pack or brochures in the room about the site (which covers 300 acres!). It was difficult to find the locations of the restaurants, spa, etc. There was no info as to when check-out time was. It is a beautiful getaway - we went when the virus panic was still going on and it was quite a bit busier than I expected. I would recommend finding when the least-busy times are and going then. The rooms are beautiful. Our room had no robes - maybe they don’t supply those to folks getting the fantastic Travelzoo offer.

Beautiful resort! Lots of comfy places to sit around the atrium, lobby, by fireplace. Although the visit was during COVID, we still were able to enjoy the pool, Paddy's Restaurant, the winery, and ambiance. Rooms had been renovated and were very comfortable - nice sheets, fluffy towels, refrig, large screen TV, lots of space in room. Due to COVID, no housekeeping service (we didn't mind but would have been nice to have an extra garbage bag provided), I still disinfected areas in the room. Signs were everywhere providing arrows for walking directions, signs for social distancing, signs for only 2 in elevator at a time. Disappointed that fitness center was not open as I think the social distancing/sanitizing requirements could have been met by having a sign up list to limit number of guests in center. Website states all kinds of requirements at the pool, but nothing was enforced - no limit on people, no social distancing with chairs, site states that chairs will be sanitized and covered with plastic but not evident over four days, chairs were allowed to be saved with towels. I would have appreciated seeing staff actually doing disinfecting during the day (door handles, elevator area, common areas, etc. It's managing the perception. In fact, hardly saw staff anywhere except if taking orders for food/drink at the pool. Check in process was smooth, but uninformative (had to ask where elevator was, was not told about parking but overhead someone else mention, would have liked information about restaurants and other amenities, internet access info - in other words, was just handed my key and room number). I would most definitely stay here again, but I now know what to expect. At this time of all the restrictions with COVID, I would not pay full price for the stay and was grateful to have the Travelzoo offer.

We ate offsite as the food pricing was high, I suppose inline with such a facility. But, an experience with apps being frozen low quality at the Bourbon Bar, and we decided not to spend $100 per meal in favor of Pat's Eatery nearby at a fraction of the cost. We went home a day early as I'm a really good cook myself and no other activities to enjoy.

We arrived at noon, which is normal checkout at the resort. They were very gracious and let us check in immediately. Our room was very spacious and clean, and the inn is beautiful. Due to COVID-19, not everything was open or fully staffed. We were able to have lunch at Paddy's Pub with a wait; however, we were unable to get a reservation for dinner at Marc at the winery. We tried calling other nice restaurants in the area and all were fully booked. We were finally able to have dinner at 8:30 at Sarazen's on the golf course, which was great even with their limited menu. I have to commend a waiter named Caleb for his excellent service. There was only one bar open in the resort at night, and there was a long waiting line due to the resort's adherence to COVID-19 restrictions. A lot of people were complaining about the wait, especially knowing how it was at the pool. The resort's web site stated they would only allow 62 people in at one time and you would be put on a wait list and called/texted when there was availability. None of that was true. There were probably 200 people at the pool with no restrictions. People were towel to towel along the pool edge and no one ever left to free up lounges until at least 7 pm. With the temperature around 90 degrees, the pool was a feature we looked forward to enjoying. I inquired about it and was told they tried it the weekend prior and people were so upset about 3-4 hour waits to get to the pool, that they stopped enforcing it. It's still a great place to stay; I just wish we had waited until things are back to normal to better enjoy a nice meal, drinks and the pool.

We were very thankful that the weather was nice so we could enjoy the pool and lovely grounds. However, if the weather would have been rainy, we wouldn’t have had anything to do but sit in our room. On nice days, there are some great options such as tennis, golf, and nature trails. The resort does provide bikes and we did take advantage of them. The roads around the area were very hilly. The bike ride was more work than pleasure and definitely not for anyone even slightly out of shape.

My wife and I were celebrating our 41 wedding anniversary and just wanted to get away from the world for a few days and relax. This location is just north of Atlanta and has a lot to offer in the area. Although we just wanted to rest and relax. We took a tour of the winery and were guided by a young lady who was great and very knowledgeable about the wine making process. We did also, go hiking one day at a near by state park. The Chateau resort has just about everything you need, winery, restaurants and swimming pool. This is a huge venue for weddings and conferences. The hotel is very large and and has lots of amenities. We just happened to be there as most businesses and hotels were opening back up from the COVID-19 issue. The housekeeping was blocked from coming into the room while we were there but they were very responsive to bring us anything we needed upon request. The resort wasn't as busy as it probably is normally especially during the work week. I can't imagine how it would be if the hotel were full. We had a great experience during our stay there and hope to return with friends and family in the future.
