Hotel San Carlos
Why We Love This Hotel
- This 4-star property is in Roses, on the north of the Costa Brava, "one of the most romantic, gorgeous, unspoilt stretches of coast in Europe" (The Daily Telegraph)
- The fishing villa of Cadaquès and Figueres, home to Salvador Dali Museum, are less than 30 minute's drive
- Every Friday and Saturday the hotel organizes themed dinners
The 4-star San Carlos Hotel is located less than 10 minute's drive from the village of Roses and its beaches, in the Costa Brava. It is the perfect starting point to visit the natural park of Els Aigüamolls de L'Empordà, where "keen twitchers may glimpse flamingos, purple herons, glossy ibis, spoonbills, rare black storks and more of the 329 species that pass through" (Lonely Planet).
The fishing village of Cadaquès -- where Salvador Dali spent family holidays during his youth -- and the nature reserve of Cap de Creus are less than 30 minute's drive, while the protected Illes Medes -- a spectacular group of rocky islets barely 1 km offshore and home to some of the most abundant marine life in coastal Spain -- is approximately an hours' drive.
Facilities at the hotel include three swimming pools, a gym, a mini-golf, and a sports center. The buffet restaurant serves Mediterranean cuisine and organizes thematic dinners every weekend. In the 'Show Cooking' section the Chef will delight the guests with a live cooking spectacle.
Rooms at the San Carlos have a private terrace, air conditioning and a large bathroom. Some offer beautiful views over the mountains, pool or the sea.
