"Excellent location! I was here for business and it felt like a home away from home with the kitchen, sitting area, even a washer and drier! Breakfast was included and had a nice variety. Overall the room was clean, just some minor things were missed over the weekend (ie: cleaning the bathroom, replenishing coffee and towels). Front desk was friendly and prompt when I called to have these items replenished - so I really can't complain! All in all this was an amazing deal, a great place to stay for a business trip. I look forward to returning."

Overview

Just off Yonge Street and a block from Bay, the Cosmopolitan Hotel's spot in the thick of Toronto's Financial District makes it easy to peg as a place for business travelers. To assume only they would stop here, though, ignores all the leisurely touches going on inside the hotel.

A zen inspiration anoints the interiors with bamboo and trickling water features, and the full-service spa includes a glass-enclosed solarium and a huge Jacuzzi. The hotel only has suites, which have clean-lined furnishings atop wood floors, and floor-to-ceiling windows leading out to private balconies. Many rooms also have fully equipped kitchens and washers and dryers.

The hotel is well located for fun outside office hours. Less than a mile away is The Distillery District, a hub of independent shops, nightlife, performance spaces and bistros, all in the refurbished brick warehouses and industrial buildings of a historic former liquor distillery. And about five blocks west is St. Lawrence Market, a lively food hall showcasing local bakers, cheesemongers and butchers.

Explore Canada’s cultural capital with adventure-filled activities, eye-catching shows and award-winning restaurants from top street-side patios to skyscraper dining rooms.

The coved virus prevented us from going...we cancelled with hotel. We believe under these unusual circumstances that an extension is warranted or a refund.

In reading previous reviews about the noise level, being a very light sleeper I came prepared with earplugs and it drowned out the noise of the traffic. Not the hotels fault, you are staying right in the middle of the city, of course there is going to be city sounds. If you want sound proofed rooms there are other places to stay nearby BUT for twice the price.

The room was spacious and clean. We especially enjoyed spending time at Spa Zen. The staff were very friendly and happy to answer any questions we had regarding the booking.

We got a reduced rate of $167.00 as the room is around $250+. The rooms show the age and need upgrading. Blinds were not working right, lamp was all loose and not straight, we had to fix it. Cleaners could have been more thorough ... peanuts were found under the desk. The breakfast buffet the next morning was disappointing. If we had of paid the non-discounted price we would have been disappointed. The saving grace was the staff as they went out of their way to be accommodating and were very professional. The Hotel is showing its age unfortunately.

The location was great — but there are many other options at comparable prices in the same area.

The included breakfast was the “deal”. It was exceptionally disappointing — We went down for 9am, and there was no coffee, no warm food (eggs, bacon, etc. were all empty). Fruit options were down to a few berries, one or two muffins and toast were the only possibilities for breakfast. The room was fine — but didn’t look anything like the photos, quite run down and dingy. Windows wouldn’t seal properly so it was quite noisy overnight.
