Nent Hall Country Hotel offers country-house accommodation in a picturesque rural setting. Located off a tree-lined road, the hotel occupies an ivy-clad building with an elegant brick façade. It's a short walk from the banks of the River Nent and a 5-minute drive from Alston, known for its cobbled streets and 17th-century stone buildings.

Both the "handsome" (Rough Guides) market town of Hexham and Hadrian's Wall are around 40 minutes' drive away, while the Lake District National Park takes approximately 45 minutes to reach by car.

There's a cosy feel to Nent Hall Country Hotel's interiors, which include a lounge area with plush sofas and antique furnishings. The Coach House Inn features a wood-panelled bar and a fireplace, and serves hearty meals, and the Valley View Restaurant is open Friday and Saturday. The hotel grounds are dotted with patio areas and picnic tables.

Bedrooms are decorated in neutral tones with richly patterned fabrics and ornate bedsteads, and have free Wi-Fi, TVs, DVD players, and tea- and coffee-making facilities. Many rooms have 4-poster beds, and there's also a suite with a living room, a dressing area and a roll-top bath, plus stairs leading to a tower overlooking the hotel grounds.

The food was excellent, presentation very good, food very hot and fresh! Good choice of menu for both the bar and the restaurant.
Other Comments
The hotel itself is a bit tired, and could do with some improvements, such as a shower cubicle in the ensuite bathrooms! The staff were lovely and very friendly, but the general housekeeping could do with some improvement!

Set in a quiet country location enjoyed our stay, with clean comfortable room and food served to good standard, spacious car park with reasonable facilities in the hotel.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Excellent Food and very reasonably priced. Although the rooms were comfortable, ours (15) was over the kitchen and quite noisy. Also, the duvets need to be summer weight. Overall we had a nice stay, but the decor is tired.

For what we paid we cannot really complain but the hotel is very much in need of a facelift. For a four star rating it was very much lacking. Toiletries were poor although towels were good. However I don’t think the en Suite was touched when room serviced. Another example of neglect was magazine in lounge dated 2014!! Staff friendly and helpful but I think they were overworked

It was very peaceful and relaxing to stay there and the rooms were comfortable and clean. It was a good location from which to visit lots of different places in Cumbria and Northumberland.
