Overview

Maybe it's the mountains on three sides or the lack of chain stores, but the moment you arrive in Telluride, you'll know you've found something special. Plan a visit to the quaint, yet vibrant area with a retreat at Madeline Hotel and Residences, which earns the Forbes 4-star distinction. Once you check in, explore the area’s historic district -- comprising Victorian era buildings, restaurants and fine shops. A complimentary gondola provides not only scenic views, but transit around Mountain Village.

This part of Colorado is an outdoor enthusiast’s paradise. Try out activities like fly-fishing, mountain biking and kayaking. In addition, Telluride hosts more than 30 summer festivals, including a Bluegrass Festival and Wine Festival.

Back at the hotel, head to Black Iron Kitchen and Bar for a causal dining experience with a view. Each night, retire to a spacious guest room featuring a deep soaking tub and 450-thread count linens. Some deluxe rooms feature balconies, and some suites and condo units offer fireplaces and a full kitchen.

From the press:
  • "The polished staff, which includes a personal assistant stationed in the cozy Living Room (stocked around the clock with coffee and snacks) are as courteous as they come.” -- Conde Nast Traveler
  • "Attentive service and minimalist, contemporary decor give this Mountain Village hotel a well-deserved air of luxury" -- Fodor’s

I would highly recommend this resort to anyone looking for a relaxing getaway in a beautiful location! Only complaint is the spa prices were on the high side. $300 for a 90 min. massage seems a bit steep.

Fabulous hotel and staff. The only suggestion I have is to reconsider the music at the pool. Was a little techno and just didn’t quite fit the beautiful location and ambience. We really enjoyed our stay - thank you so much!

Location was great and you can easily get to telluride or other mountain village locations since it’s centrally located and close to the gondola stop
Other Comments
They had a policy that if there was lightning within a 20 mile radius the pool would close. So we would be sitting there with sunshine and no weather but there was some on the other side of the mountain range within 20 miles which was frustrating.
