Set right in the heart of Beverly Hills, the Crescent Hotel is a boutique find that Fodor's says evokes "the feeling that you've arrived at your most elective and wealthy friend's house." Not only is the decor stylish and unique with every detail thought through, the outstanding service reaches a level "rarely found across the city" (Fodor's).

Built in 1927, the property was first an apartment complex housing silent movie stars before being remodeled into a boutique hotel in 2003, and embracing its history, the property’s walls are lined with portraits and art pieces from the golden days of Old Hollywood. The era’s glamour is still embraced by the property’s design with chandeliers and eclectic accent pieces.

The 35 guest rooms are equipped with king or queen beds and all are outfitted with high-tech amenities like flat-screen TVs and free Wi-Fi.

Each morning a breakfast buffet including pastries, coffee, tea and freshly squeezed juice is served in the lounge (included in the nightly resort fee). Throughout the day guests can lounge’s fireplace or on the outdoor terrace or browse through the extensive selection of books in the library.

From the hotel, Rodeo Drive and Wilshire Boulevard are less than five minutes on foot. TCL Chinese Theatre is 20 minutes from the hotel and Santa Monica’s beaches are a 25-minute drive.

Location, as well as the look/feel of the hotel itself (and rooms). The artwork adds creativity to the atmosphere and each piece is a pleasure to look at while walking throughout the hotel.

They provide a nice selection of food Do breakfast and the hours to enjoy breakfast are long enough that those of us who like to sleep in can still make it in time to enjoy. The staff is very friendly.

The hotel is very cool and funky. Decorated in an 80’s Retro style, there are outstanding portraits of rock stars and music icons throughout the hotel. I loved that it was small and only serving a small number of guests. The rooms are not luxurious, but I found mine to be extremely comfortable. They have a beautiful little bar/patio area in which a free breakfast is served every day. The self service selections are wonderful (fresh fruit, lox, bagels, eggs, yogurt, various breads) and it is a lovely place to linger and read the paper. They also have a happy hour every evening for guests. The hotel is located in the heart of Beverly Hills and is only three short blocks from Rodeo Drive. Walking the neighborhood is a delight! I loved staying here and felt it was a wonderful value.

My only criticism is that the rooms are rather dark and this made putting on makeup a bit of a challenge. I consider this a minor inconvenience and would definitely return to The Crescent Hotel Be early Hills.
