We were in the old part of the hotel, room 6 floor 2, room needs updating., stair carpets to room are threadbare, stair Bannister needs painting! The room itself was very clean and tidy, just needs a good coat of paint.

Every one of the team were brilliant and couldn't have done more for us. There was none of the stiff formality that is usual in most large hotels, which gave a very warm & relaxed family feel. Very refreshing to see. Especially Paula in the dining room, she was a real character & everyone enjoyed her banter. She knew her audience very well.

The pool & leisure facilities were beautiful & very relaxing though unfortunately the steam room wasn't working, but these things happen & not the hotel fault. The food was really good from breakfast & dinner to the bar menu which was very reasonably priced & plenty of it. The frontage and reception area was excellent with plenty of areas to relax with a book or meet with friends etc & overlooked the sea. Going beyond up to the rooms etc was very different, the whole place desperately needs updating, even just a coat of paint would help, but everywhere was clean & tidy & didn't bother us. The rooms were cleaned & tidied everyday to a high standard. Overall we really enjoyed our stay & would not hesitate to book again. So in summary the tiredness of the hotel was more than made up for with the staff.

The overall stay was OK but the room we had was rather tired and could do with a refurb. Also there was extractor fans close to our room which interfered with our sleep...not good.
