The Mount Hotel & Conference Centre is a Victorian manor house with a 2-AA-Rosette restaurant that's "peacefully located" (The AA) on the outskirts of Wolverhampton.

It's around five minutes' drive from two of the area's most treasured historical sights -- National Trust-run Wightwick Manor and Gardens and Bantock House Museum and Park. Wightwick is a Grade I-listed Arts and Crafts-style manor house. It has a Pre-Raphaelite art collection and a beautiful Edwardian garden. At Bantock House, you'll find a museum on Edwardian life and local history, as well as 48 acres of parkland.

Wolverhampton city centre is also a 15-minute drive from the hotel, so the city's bars and nightlife are easily accessible.

Bedrooms have period features, and some have garden views. The AA says that "modern refurbishment and period architecture sit comfortably together", and praises the "stylish" and "contemporary" bedrooms.

According to The AA, guests should "expect brasserie buzz" at the Drawing Room restaurant, which overlooks the terrace and gardens. We've also negotiated lunch for two, with coffee, for £29 and afternoon tea for two, with prosecco, for £25. The restaurant caters for gluten-free diners.

The hotel also has a bar and lounge area, a wood-panelled hall and a fitness room. Wi-Fi is free.
