Set on landmark-filled Broad Street in the centre of Oxford, The Buttery is perfectly placed if you want to explore the city's historic university buildings and its main shopping area. This guesthouse is across the road from 13th-century Balliol College and a short stroll from bustling, pedestrianised Cornmarket Street. The Bodleian Library and Blackwell's bookshop are a 5-minute walk away, and riverside Magdalen College with its iconic tower is 10 minutes' walk from the guesthouse.
Accessed via a red door and spread over three floors, the Buttery's 16 guestrooms range from compact singles to family rooms for up to four guests. All rooms were refurbished in 2016 and are decorated in a simple style with neutral tones. They offer free Wi-Fi, flat-screen TVs, and tea- and coffee-making facilities, while some rooms feature original fireplaces.
