About the Hotel
Why We Love This Hotel
- This riad has an Art Deco theme with a colourful geometric design
- It has a roof terrace with views of the Atlas Mountains
- The hotel is less than 10 minutes' stroll from the Saadian Tombs and 15 minutes' walk from Djemaa el Fna
Vibrant geometric décor and Art Deco style make the Villa Makassar somewhere "Jay Gatsby would approve of", according to The Daily Telegraph.
The hotel is situated next to the Royal Palace, near the walls of the medina and 15 minutes' walk from the souks and the busy square of Djemaa el Fna, where magicians, dancers and snake charmers perform for passers-by.
After a hot dusty day bartering in the medina, you can cool off in the outdoor plunge pool and relax on the rooftop terrace which has views of the Atlas Mountains. The spa has a hammam and a hot tub.
Breakfast is a spread of local pastries, yoghurt and freshly squeezed orange juice. The restaurant also serves lunch and dinner, and a light à la carte menu in the afternoon.
The Independent describes the hotel interior as a "treasure trove of eclectic Art Deco style". The 10 individual rooms has free Wi-Fi and some have a private balcony.
