Stallmästaregarden Hotel offers upscale accommodation in a peaceful waterside setting with easy access to Stockholm's lively city centre. Overlooking the leafy bay of Brunnsviken on the edge of Hagaparken nature area, the hotel is built around a 17th-century former inn, said to be Stockholm's first, with more modern extensions and annexes. The property is a 15-minute walk from the gallery-packed Vasastan district and approximately 15 minutes' drive from the city's major sights, including the National Museum, the Stockholm Palace and the Royal Swedish Opera.
The hotel's interiors mix period accents with elegant, modern design features. The warm lobby area features animal-print seats and low-hanging brass lamps, and there's also a rustic-chic restaurant with a beamed ceiling and curved leather banquettes. The lush gardens contain a gazebo offering views of the bay.
Bedrooms have wooden floors and antique-inspired furnishings. All rooms have free Wi-Fi, flatscreen TVs, work areas and mini bars, as well as Egyptian cotton bedding. Higher-category rooms add floral drapes, patios and tea- and coffee-making facilities, while the split-level suites provide a living room. The hotel's most luxurious suites come with bay views and coffee machines, and there's one with a balcony. Room service is available 24 hours a day.
