This 85-room hotel is set in an impressive former shipping warehouse that was built in the 1870s and is now a Grade II-listed building. It's in central Manchester, close to city-centre draws and shopping areas. The Manchester Arndale, which is one of the UK's largest shopping centres and is home to around 200 stores, plus a range of popular eateries, is half a mile from the hotel.
It's also ideally placed for visiting cultural attractions including the Manchester Art Gallery and the Manchester Central Library, both of which are a short stroll from the hotel. If you're arriving by coach or train, public transport links are excellent -- Manchester Coach Station, Manchester Piccadilly railway station and Manchester Oxford Road station are all within half a mile of the hotel.
There are plenty of places for a drink and a bite to eat in the surrounding area, including the many restaurants of nearby Chinatown. Back at the hotel, the 101 Bar is the relaxed setting for light lunches and drinks, while the 101 Brasserie serves steaks and burgers from the grill, plus dishes such as pasta and salads.
The comfortable rooms and suites have free Wi-Fi, contemporary décor and crisp white bed linen. Executive rooms have extras such as fluffy bathrobes and Nespresso coffee machines, while Superior rooms have these added features plus perks such as complimentary newspapers and separate seating areas.
