Why We Love This Hotel

  • The Land's End Hotel has panoramic views of the Penwith Heritage Coast
  • The property is set on the granite cliffs of Land's End
  • Porthcurno and its white-sand beach is less than a 15-minute drive away
  • There's a restaurant, a cosy lounge with a fireplace and a bar

Set in a Victorian building on the granite cliffs of Land's End, The Land's End Hotel has "stunning" (The AA) panoramic views of Longships Lighthouse and the Celtic Sea.

The hotel is on the Penwith Heritage Coast, with Sennen Cove and Sennen Beach both less than 45 minutes' walk away along the South West Coast Path, which runs in front of the hotel. Enys Dodnan Arch -- a rock formation similar to Durdle Door -- is less than 30 minutes' walk away.

The pretty village of Porthcurno, home to "arguably the county's most beautiful bay" (The Daily Telegraph), with its pristine white-sand beaches and rugged cliffs, is less than 15 minutes' drive away.

The Land's End Hotel has an "impressive" (The AA) restaurant with "amazing" views out to sea, and you can visit for a coffee, a drink, dinner or a Cornish cream tea. Alternatively, you can relax with a book on a sofa in the lounge.

The AA says rooms are "pleasantly decorated" and some have "stunning" sea views. Some Standard Double rooms have refurbished bathrooms with walk-in rain showers. Wi-Fi is free.

The bed was very comfy, the breakfast was very good. Because of the government's advice we stayed only one night. Hopefully we will be refunded the second night.

The bathroom was from last century. Two taps, chilly, windy,no upvc or double glazed windows in the room and in the bathroom. Cold room and very cold bathroom, you couldn't use the loo or taking a shower there because of being 5 degrees there. Very disappointing. Because it's a windy location our night sleep was affected by the winds' noise through the windows which weren't locked properly or cracks in the window. For the refund of our second night I had to tell the person from reception about this, she didn't offer to do this. Hopefully with will be refunded.

I emailed the hotel to tell them I was gluten-free at least a week before arrival. We had a complimentary cream tea on arrival and was told it was gluten-free, however, 3.5 hours Later I was being sick and diorrhea due to being 'glutened'. The room was supposed to be 'deluxe with a sea view' but it was very small and basic, the window and sea view was blocked by scaffolding due to renovation works.

Excellent hotel as always but it would be good if they have bigger beds other than standard doubles, because the rooms are large enough to take king size
