Why We Love This Hotel

  • This boutique hotel is in the seaside village of Carbis Bay, five minutes' drive from St Ives
  • Guests can use the facilities at Carbis Bay Hotel, which include a heated outdoor pool, a sauna, a hydrotherapy pool and a private Blue Flag beach
  • "High-standard" (The AA) Quirky Rooms are individually designed and have bespoke furniture

Cornwall is popular throughout the year, due to its "mild climate, breathtaking scenery and long stretches of sandy beach" (Condé Nast Traveller), and its Atlantic coast is dotted with some of the UK's most beautiful coves and bays.

The Gannet Inn is in the village of Carbis Bay on Cornwall's north coast. The country-style property opened in 2015 and has "unique interiors with all the style and finesse of a boutique hotel", according to The AA.

The art galleries and winding cobbled streets of St Ives are five minutes' drive away, while the hotel's sister property, Carbis Bay Hotel, is 15 minutes' walk away -- guests at The Gannet Inn can head there to use the hotel's spa facilities, outdoor pool and Blue Flag beach.

The Gannet Inn has a restaurant that serves classic British dishes, burgers and pasta, and a bar with a dartboard and a pool table. There is also a lounge with a fireplace and leather armchairs. Breakfast is served daily from 7:30-10am.

"Stylish, high-standard" (The AA) bedrooms are individually designed and soundproof, and feature neutral décor and bespoke furniture. Wi-Fi is free.

We really enjoyed our stay and would go back. The hotel is in a good location and has a good car park. It has a bus stop right outside the hotel for getting into St Ives every 20 mins. The food is excellent and the staff are very polite.
Other Comments
The only thing I would say is, it does need a little TLC in places, water marks on the ceiling in the lounge area, outside seating area needs tidying up it's quite scruffy.

Great atmosphere, very close to St Ives- best to leave the car parked at the hotel and use the bus.

Good food, nice decor , lovely modern ensuite and excellent room size
Other Comments
As there is little parking available in St Ives, we found having a bus stop close to the hotel very convenient.
