Views of the Atlantic Ocean spread out from Vidamar Resort Hotel Algarve, which offers family-friendly accommodation in a palm tree-lined complex. Set next to a wildlife-filled nature reserve, the hotel occupies a collection of modern terracotta-toned buildings, and offers direct access to Praia de Salgados beach via a wooden walkway over undulating sand dunes. Nearby attractions include Salgados Golf Course, a 5-minute drive away, whilst Albufeira, which combines a “party-revelers' paradise” with a “quaint” old town (Fodor's), is around 15 minutes’ drive from the hotel. Portimão, a “small, friendly hub with a pleasant waterfront” (Lonely Planet) is around 35 minutes' drive away and Faro, which combines “a smattering of history and leisure opportunities in one lively package” (Fodor's) takes about 45 minutes to reach by car.
There’s a relaxed feel to Vidamar Resort Hotel Algarve’s interiors, where dining options include Asian, Italian, Portuguese and buffet restaurants, as well as a café, a polished bar and an outdoor eatery serving light bites and overlooking the dunes. Guests can choose from three saltwater pools, including a children's pool, stroll through the hotel’s lush gardens and relax in the on-site spa with its indoor pool, sauna, hot tub and steam room (fees may apply). Other amenities include a gym and a kids' club, and the hotel can organise excursions including hiking, bird watching and surfing.
Guestrooms feature contemporary-style decor in soft neutral tones and include free Wi-Fi. All the rooms come with sofabeds and open to balconies with views of the pool, the golf course, the resort grounds or the ocean.
