Overview

Just a 10-minute walk from the Duomo, Hotel Rivoli is set in a converted Franciscan monastery dating to the 14th century.

Close to Florence's main railway station, Santa Maria Novella, this traditional property is within walking distance of the city's main sights including the Medici chapels, the world-class Uffizi Galleries and the Accademia (home to Michelangelo's David). The iconic Ponte Vecchio bridge, which crosses the Arno River, is less than a 15-minute stroll away.

Original features include vaulted ceilings and stone columns, and the lounges are dotted with antiques. After a day of sightseeing, relax in the courtyard garden where you'll find a heated plunge pool and a hot tub (open all year). Drinks and snacks are served at the garden bar every afternoon and evening. The restaurant serves classic Tuscan dishes with a contemporary twist and breakfast can be taken outside in summer.

The traditional rooms all have air conditioning, flat-screen TVs, minibars, free Wi-Fi and floor-to-ceiling windows. Family and balcony rooms are available.

The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. They wereclearly very proud of their hotel and nothing was too much trouble. Rooms were a little dated but this is a historic hotel. Enjoyed our stay and all attractions were very close by.

The staff were excellent right from the moment we arrived to the time we left. We always felt valued and attended when needed but descretely served, never in your face. The room was excellent although a noisey neighbour on the first day was entertaining but not the hotels fault. Would be beautiful in the summer.

Lovely big room but some street noise at night and all through the night, revellers and roadworks/building. Beds and pillows uncomfortable. Very clean and lovely public areas. Great breakfast and bar staff and a great location.
Other Comments
Breakfast staff were lovely but reception staff were hit and miss, no acknowledgement when coming in and going out and not as friendly.

Fascinating hotel with lots of interesting features. An added bonus was the Nativity diaramas. The breakfast was good and the staff could not have been more helpful. We would thoroughly recommend it.
