Overview

The Rosenburg Hotel is a 4-star property on the Coupure Canal in Bruges.

The hotel is tucked away in the east of the city, a 10-minute walk along the canal from Bruges's Grote Markt (market square) and its 13th-century Belfort, a medieval bell tower and UNESCO World Heritage Site that featured in the film "In Bruges".

City-centre sights, such as the Basilica of the Holy Blood, the 15th-century Stadhuis (city hall) and the Groeningemuseum gallery of Flemish art, are all within 10 minutes' walk of the hotel. The Museum St-Janshospitaal, where you can see a restored 17th-century pharmacy, antique hospital equipment and 15th-century paintings by Hans Memling, is also a 10-minute walk away. There's a bus stop across the canal from the hotel, and Number 6 and 16 buses stop here every 10 minutes.

Breakfast is served in the hotel's Orangerie or in the courtyard garden during warmer weather. The hotel also has a lounge bar that overlooks the canal and yacht harbour.

Canal View Rooms have views over the Coupure Canal. Wi-Fi is free.

Hotel is well situated for the city but not in the main city precinct. Staff were very welcoming and helpful. Bedroom was clean and tidy, well decorated with a nice large bed. Breakfast was continental and very nice.
Other Comments
The entrance hall could be more welcoming and the check in/out desk could be more prominent. Both function fine.

Nice location not too far from the main centre.

Got a shock when we checked out. Only used hotel garage for two nights and they charged us €40! There was no mention of a cost for this when we arrived. The first night we parked in a modern under car park opposite the hotel and it cost €14!!! Didn’t see car park costs on the website! Apart from that the hotel was quite nice, although we thought ‘Faulty Towers’ when the electric tripped a couple of times!!!
