Overview

The Rosenburg Hotel is a 4-star property on the Coupure Canal in Bruges.

The hotel is tucked away in the east of the city, a 10-minute walk along the canal from Bruges's Grote Markt (market square) and its 13th-century Belfort, a medieval bell tower and UNESCO World Heritage Site that featured in the film "In Bruges".

City-centre sights, such as the Basilica of the Holy Blood, the 15th-century Stadhuis (city hall) and the Groeningemuseum gallery of Flemish art, are all within 10 minutes' walk of the hotel. The Museum St-Janshospitaal, where you can see a restored 17th-century pharmacy, antique hospital equipment and 15th-century paintings by Hans Memling, is also a 10-minute walk away. There's a bus stop across the canal from the hotel, and Number 6 and 16 buses stop here every 10 minutes.

Breakfast is served in the hotel's Orangerie or in the courtyard garden during warmer weather. The hotel also has a lounge bar that overlooks the canal and yacht harbour.

Canal View Rooms have views over the Coupure Canal. Wi-Fi is free.

As I said there was nothing wrong with the hotel and Bruges was OK but all we will remember about the weekend there, and all we will tell people about our experience is the we were charged €60.00 for 'losing' our parking ticket. So if you go to Bruges don't leave your parking ticket in your hotel room.

The hotel was OK and the staff we met were friendly and helpful. But the ticket to the underground car park disappeared from our room and we were charged €60.00 to get our car out of the car park.

The room was as described, basic but clean and comfortable. Nice bathroom and shower and the location was good too. If I were to be in Belgium again I would stay there, but I have no plans to return to Belgium in the near future

The only thing that disappointed us was that we didn't get the chance to stay there. We booked in, went to our room, but shortly after I was told my father was critically ill in hospital and on life support, so we had to leave immediately and return home.
