Overview

The original Victorian part of this 72-room hotel was once the home of former prime minister Stanley Baldwin. It's set in 23 acres of gardens on the edge of Stourport-on-Severn -- an inland port town built in the mid-1700s where the Staffordshire & Worcestershire Canal meets the River Severn -- and is 15 minutes' drive from Kidderminster.

The timber-framed Tudor buildings and Georgian architecture of Worcester are 20 minutes' drive from the hotel. You can visit the 11th-century cathedral to see the royal tombs and medieval cloisters.

West Midland Safari Park -- which is home to around 600 animals and has a drive-through safari, and rides and attractions for children -- is 15 minutes' drive, as is the Wyre Forest.

This hotel has plenty of facilities to keep guests occupied. There is a leisure club with an indoor swimming pool, a sauna and a poolside Jacuzzi, as well as a gym, a squash court and tennis courts.

The restaurant serves a brasserie-style menu of British classics and international cuisine. There's a terrace for al fresco dining, and a bar and lounge with a separate menu of light bites.

A few of the bedrooms are in the original Victorian house, but most are in a modern building. All rooms have free Wi-Fi. Superior doubles have additional features including separate lounge areas.

All the staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast very good.

The deal you advertised regarding diner was an allowance of £23 per person towards dinner from the brasserie menu. We were a little confused on our first night when asked to sign for an added supplement as our meal didn’t go over the allowance. However on the second night the Inclusive deal was explained - three courses from the menu and anything * a supplement was charged, irrespective of whether it exceeded £23. A bit confusing so you may want to change the wording on your deal. However we didn’t find their menu to our taste which is why we wouldn’t go back. Sadly these days fresh vegetables don’t appear on menus as customers seem to like burgers and pasta etc.

The friendliness of the staff. They were so welcoming and accommodating. That's the main reason I would revisit the hotel.
Other Comments
The only downside was the lack of options if you had a food allergy. The staff did their best to accommodate though. Also the shower in the room was hit and miss. We tended to get scolded by the heat of the water as it was difficult to adjust the shower and get the temperature just right! Apart from this, staff were incredibly accommodating and helpful.

The staff were all very friendly and helpful , the food was great and the spa facilities were very good, everything was clean and our room was perfect , very quiet even though they were very busy with a wedding party and a coach load of visitors..

The Brasserie restaurant is overstated. The food and service were good but a little pricey. The restaurant is not a brasserie it is a large room with typical hotel tables and chairs. Zero atmosphere. Our Superior room was a bit stinky on entry, that smell you associate with a tired hotel room. Generally the hotel was clean throughout but the bathroom needed some maintenance eg rusty fittings and hopeless shower curtain over the bath/shower. Very helpful receptionist and good breakfast, pity they ran out of cups

The dinner was excellent, thoroughly enjoyable.
Other Comments
Bit surprised that quite a few people at dinner and particuly at breakfast came into the restaurant wearing shorts, towels over shoulders, trainers etc. I know there was a pool, spa, etc but would not expect to see that sort of dress in a very nice restaurant.
