TOP 20 - Sells out quickly!

Overnight stays at Jacobean manor Holdsworth House Hotel & Restaurant -- near the West Yorkshire landscape that inspired Emily Brontë's Wuthering Heights -- are now £119. At up to 47% less than usual, this deal includes:

  • Accommodation in a House Double room, with full English breakfast, for two
  • A glass of prosecco on arrival (worth £6 per person)
  • £25-per-person credit towards the à la carte menu (food only)
  • Late checkout until 12pm (worth £20)
  • We've also negotiated a 2-night stay for £179 -- the second night is on a bed-and-breakfast-only basis

Why We Love It

  • This 17th-century Jacobean manor is set on the edge of Brontë country in the South Pennines
  • The restaurant holds two AA Rosettes
  • Popular with celebrities, the hotel was also a filming location for the BBC's "Last Tango in Halifax"

Set in West Yorkshire, close to Halifax and the rugged South Pennine countryside, this "delightful" (The AA) ivy-clad Jacobean manor retains many of its original features, including open fireplaces and stone mullioned windows. On the edge of the area known as Brontë Country -- for its association with the famous literary sisters -- the property is no stranger to celebrity guests, having hosted Jamie Oliver and The Beatles. It also featured in the BBC's "Last Tango in Halifax".

The hotel is on the outskirts of Halifax, where the villages surrounding the town blend into the Yorkshire countryside. It is around 45 minutes' drive from the edge of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, the Nidderdale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and the Peak District National Park.

The 17th-century property retains many of its original features, including open fireplaces and stone mullioned windows. Keep an eye out for the stone Maltese cross above the hotel's central gable, which denotes that at one time the estate was in the hands of the ancient Order of the Knights of St John of Jerusalem.

The hotel's "elegant" candlelit and oak-panelled 2-AA-Rosette restaurant uses local produce -- The AA says, "dinner provides the highlight of any stay". Long Bar serves local ales on tap and cocktails.

Rooms have Wi-Fi and room service is available 24 hours a day.

Menu choice was not good for a Friday. The good 'staple' menu only ran sun to Thursday.

Nice to have breakfast cooked to order and not a buffet.
Other Comments
Thought that the starters were overpriced in comparison to the good value of main course.
