- Some rooms have views of Playhouse Square, Public Square or Lake Erie
Kimpton brand hotels are beloved for their unique style -- none of their hotels are alike -- and local flair, which they certainly brought to the new Schofield Hotel. Opened in March 2016, the hotel spent $50 million to update the building (designed by architect Levi Scofield, who dropped the "h" in his name -- the Schofield brought it back), inside and out.
Rooms feature pillowtop beds, Victorian-inspired artwork and a lightbox with adjustable letters that let you leave a message for the next guest. Spaces are spacious, starting at 300-400 square feet, and bathrooms feature Atelier Bloem bath amenities. There's no pool, but there is a fitness center on site, and in-room spa treatments can be arranged.
A range of complimentary Kimpton perks come standard at The Schofield, including complimentary bike rentals for trips around town, a yoga mat in every room, and free wine in the evenings in the lobby's Living Room bar. Kimpton Karma Rewards members get free Wi-Fi and a $10 credit to the minibar. Like all other Kimptons, the Schofield is extremely pet friendly -- no additional fees for your furry friend to stay with you.
Local touches are a hallmark of the Kimpton brand -- here, they include the local craft beers guests can grab from the minibars in their room, loaner guitars guests can strum while imagining trips to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame just up the street, and "American Splendor" comics in the lobby.
