The Stanneylands Hotel is a country house in four acres of landscaped gardens and woodland, on the edge of the well-heeled Cheshire town of Wilmslow, which is known for its boutiques, bars and restaurants.
Historic Tatton Park, a National Trust site that is known for its Grade I-listed Neoclassical mansion, 50 acres of landscaped gardens, deer park and playground, is a 20-minute drive away. The market town of Macclesfield, with its silk-making heritage, and Manchester city centre are both within 25 minutes' drive of the hotel.
The oldest part of The Stanneylands Hotel, which dates from the late 1800s, houses the 2-AA-Rosette restaurant, which has original oak panelling and offers a refined setting for fine dining. The less formal Calico Café Bar, which overlooks the gardens, serves drinks and has a light-bite menu.
There are 55 rooms and suites, including one with a 4-poster bed. There's also an on-site spa with beauty treatments available by appointment (supplements apply). Wi-Fi is free throughout.
