No space in the car park when we arrived. Menu was different to that on the internet, also the room information booklet had not been changed to the new menu. We had dinner @ 8.00pm in the dining room, only 4 tables occupied (10 people) we were told that there was no soup. Quality of the food was not of the standard that we were expecting. We had a courtyard room which overlooked the walled garden, this was being refurbished and looked like a building site, why did they not put is in the main hotel, it certainly was not full. Staff were in short supply and when they were they seemed more interested in chatting with each other than serving the customers. When we went to check out there was no staff at reception, we waited sometime before a staff member eventually turned up! No apology for keeping us waiting.

The room was lovely and comfortable and loved the complimentary toiletries by the White Company. Although we understand that the hotel has only recently been opened following a fire, there are a lot of ways in which the hotel can be improved. We wish them all the very best in the future of the hotel.

The menu was falsely advertised in the room, on the website and in the breakfast room, as it no longer existed. Instead we were offered a set menu which did not cater for all tastes. Due to health reasons I cannot eat meat and the only fish option was in batter which I can't eat either so I opted for the pea and goats cheese risotto but was up during the night with an upset stomach and this continued throughout the next day. I spoke to the reception staff and the chef did cook some fish for me that evening. The table service was poor, lack of cutlery, tea spilt over the table and the cooked breakfast placed in front of me whilst still eating cereal and was cold. The car park was not adequate but we do appreciate that this is because refurbishment is still taking place.

Haven't been yet - had to rearrange our stay owing to a kitchen fire at the hotel. Hope we're still booked in for next week, perhaps ask me again after that??

A fire in the kitchen meant we never actually went and the hotel was shut down for health and safety reasons Sure it will be fine when we can rebook!

Obviously we didn't get there. We had stayed the previous year which is why we were eager to go back.

That although we knew we would not be staying at the Norfolk Arms Hotel, due to the fire, the hotel we were given did not compare very well. Having been promised a contemporary room in the Norfolk we expected 'like for like'. Both our rooms ( our friends as well) in the Avisford Park were very small, and old fashioned with an uncomfortable small bed. A small bathroom, noisy plumbing. The television picture was very poor. The only redeeming feature was that the menu and food were excellent, as were the bar and waiting staff. The reception staff were less so, functional and certainly didn't ask if we had enjoyed our stay.

Nice place, comfortable room and bathroom, liked the focus on customer care and understanding that good cutlery, crockery, food and pleasant staff make huge difference

Staff were very friendly and helpful. Hotel is full of history but we had a modern spacious room in the courtyard, this was very quiet. Although the hotel is being refurbished, the work did not impact upon our stay. Location was wonderful, right in the town centre.

Good free wifi, plenty of hot water and very good quality towels. Cosy dining room with log fire, evening meal and breakfast very enjoyable. Will definitely be back.

It is central to the town and castle so we able to wander around the shops etc without having to worry about parking. The staff were very friendly and helpful, especially Michelle on reception and the young lady waitress.
Other Comments
The first room we were given was very large but the heating was not working in the bedroom, the bathroom was very dated, the bath had a chip in the bottom and was stained, some of the tiles were coming away from the wall, we informed Michelle on reception and she immediately gave us another room which was very comfortable.
