The Hotel Santa Bàrbara de la Vall d'Ordino is in the mountain village of Ordino, almost 1300 metres above sea level. There are 300 kilometres of ski slopes in the landlocked principality of Andorra, and access points for both Vallnord and Grandvalira are easily reached from the hotel. Within Vallnord, the ski slopes of Pal are accessible by cable car from La Massana, which is a 5-minute drive away. Arinsal, with its lively après-ski, is less than 15-minutes from the hotel by car, and the more remote resort of Arcalis is around 25 minutes' drive away.
Skiing aside, the hotel is also well placed for exploring other Andorran attractions, such as the beautifully contemporary Caldea Thermal Spa, which is a 15-minute drive from the hotel. It is Europe's largest complex of it's kind and it has a series of pools which are fed by hot springs, including a lagoon with waterfalls and Jacuzzis. In the village of Ordino itself there are a number of restaurants and bars, as well as a sports centre with facilities including a swimming pool, a gym and children's play areas.
The hotel, which is built from local stone in keeping with many buildings in the village, has a restaurant that serves Pyrenean dishes and offers a children's menu too. There's also a bar by the reception area. The hotel offers ski lockers and can arrange ski rental and passes.
The classically decorated rooms have mountain and village views -- some also have balconies. In addition to standard double and twin rooms, there are also "duplex rooms" (two rooms, each with a bathroom, set out over two floors), which make a good option for groups.
