Why We Love This Hotel

  • The country house hotel is at the foot of the famous Wrekin in tranquil Shropshire
  • Many rooms have balconies and overlook the scenic gardens and private lake
  • You can enjoy rural walks, travel back in time at local Victorian open-air museums and then head back to the hotel for some hearty food

"In short everything..... all the we staff met, at Reception, in the bar, in the restaurant or just in the corridor always had a smile and asked if we needed any help. The hotel was spotless throughout and the food was delicious with healthy portion size"

Buckatree Hall Hotel is believed to have derived its name from stag-hunting days, when a buck was found in the fork of a tree.

The hotel is very close to The Wrekin, an iconic hill with an ancient hilltop fortress. The walk to the summit is approximately 3.5 miles and takes an hour and 30 minutes.

The National Trust's Attingham Park is approximately 15 minutes' drive away. You can explore the 18th-century mansion, see fallow deer roaming the park, go stargazing or peruse the vast collection of Regency furniture, silver, paintings, porcelain and textiles.

Experience life as it was over 100 years ago through the sights, sounds, smells and tastes of a recreated Victorian town at Blists Hill, an open-air museum 15 minutes' drive away.

Ironbridge Gorge, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1986, is 15 minutes' drive away. Silent ironworks, foundries and mines that once breathed life into the valley have now been replaced with boutiques, gastropubs and museums.

The hotel's Lakeside Restaurant has views of the gardens and the private lake. The kitchen uses seasonal ingredients from local Shropshire suppliers.
