Named Egypt's leading resort at the World Travel Awards for the last five years, the Savoy Sharm El Sheikh has plenty to keep the whole family entertained. It also offers direct access to the beach and to SOHO Square, where you'll find an ice rink, a nightclub, a ten-pin bowling alley, shops and restaurants.
Hotel facilities include tennis and squash courts, a kids' club, and five swimming pools (three for adults and two for children), which are open until early evening, as is the neighbouring pool bar. Snorkelers and scuba divers can set off from the hotel jetty or beach to explore the nearby coral reef. The hotel's spa has a sauna, a steam room, a Jacuzzi and a wide range of treatments available -- including one for sunburn.
Breakfast is served at the main buffet restaurant, Tirana. A buffet dinner is also served here, or you can choose from the à la carte menu at one of the six on-site restaurants including Rosmarino Italian, Eest Restaurant, Caligula Hot Rock Restaurant or the Seafood Island Restaurant (which is by the sea and has views of Tiran Island).
The bedrooms are modern and have balconies or terraces with views of the Red Sea, the pools or the gardens. Tea- and coffee-making facilities and air conditioning come as standard, and non-smoking rooms are available on request. It's a large resort and some rooms are far from reception -- do ask for one nearer if this is a concern.
Many guests stay on an all-inclusive basis (which you can upgrade to on arrival), which includes options to dine and drink at a selection of SOHO Square's restaurants and bars.
