Very nice hotel but I have bad knees so too many stairs.

The service was excellent and the location.
Other Comments
Too many stairs to the room, very up and down, would be very difficult for people with mobility problems. The plates at breakfast were cold, very average food. Lots of dinner options were not available eg no root veg or vegan option.

We have a problem with stairs & unfortunately there is not a lift nor other free room. We had no problem with our luggage as they immediately took it to our room when asked & brought it back down when we were ready to checkout. The room was excellent as were the staff & dinner.

Very clean, pleasant, good value. The photo above is of one of the manor rooms which are more expensive. The garden rooms are in the annex. Not quite so lovely but very good for the price.
Other Comments
The restaurant menu is not cheap but the food was delicious, portions generous and service efficient. Breakfast is buffet style. Excellent coffee.

We enjoyed the stay very much. Initially trying to book wasn't very smooth but eventually that was solved. The room we had was excellant, very clean, good faclities and spacious. The food was of excellant quality and varied possibly a little too varied for my wife so perhaps a couple of plainer alternatives might balance the choices out, it was interesting to note that a fellow diner sitting on an adjacent table appeared to be either alergic or had an aversion to a variey to different items but from what we could understand even he was successfully sorted out with a palatable meal so credit to the chef there. By why of observation we had a corner table in the dining room and this was fine as the table had been angled in such a way that we didn't feel as if we were crammed into a cram however because of this arrangement we did notice a large and established cobweb on the skirting board behind our table and because of this we had a cursory glance around the room and saw other established cobwebs in out of the way places, also we noticed one of the bulbs in the central light fitting was extinguished, it was interesting to note the following morning where breakfast was being taken take a bulb in the room was also extinguished. None of these observations bothered us but I might suggest a hotel agent might pick you up on it so I offer these observation by way of your own standards. The waitressing staff were very efficient and friendly and as I have already said dealing with the fellow diner and all there allergies they dealt with them politely and with good grace so credit to the waitressing staff my only comment and this may very well be a generational thing was that a comment of "no worries" was used when we asked for anything and although this genuinely the case I do feel for a good class of hotel perhaps a less younerg form of response might be more suitable, perhaps "yes of course" or we're happy to oblige" As I said this may be a generational thing but I offer it to you as an observation. All the staff we encountered seemed genuinely happy to oblige and indeed were all very welcoming and friendly, again credit to them all. We certainly hope to visit again
