Overview
The Westin Resort and Spa Cancun is perched on a strip of land between the crystal clear waters of the ocean and the Nichupte Lagoon, a nature preserve chock-full of native flora, fauna and wildlife. This spot means nearly all the rooms have some type of water view. Another distinctive factor here is that a section of the world’s second largest coral reef is just off shore, which makes this one of the few places in the area that’s suited for diving.
The hotel is located on the far end of Cancun’s bustling Hotel Zone, creating a secluded and peaceful vibe on the nearly private beaches. Guests looking for an exciting nightlife scene can take a 15-minute taxi ride to the center of town. On the property, there’s four separate pools for swimming, a surfing simulator, several restaurants, a fitness center, tennis, a kids club and a spa. In short: it has everything guests might need in a resort plus the Westin’s trademark Heavenly Beds.
This is also one of the few spas in the area offering an authentic temazcal ritual, which involves an adobe sweat bath and a shaman playing native instruments and singing while you detox.

The location and weather. Short non stop flight. Warm and sunny. On the ocean. Ocean views from the balcony of my room. Safe and quiet.

The view was outstanding. The resort had lots of amenities, places to eat and play. We walked right our into the beautiful, warm, crystal clear, turquoise water to swim.
