- Burn off energy before a meeting or work off a night of excess on the famed 10-mile Hike and Bike Trail outside the lobby door
- AAA 4-Diamond property sits in the heart of the city, close to food, fun and entertainment
- Watch the largest bat colony in North America take flight nightly from their home under the adjacent Congress Street Bridge
The Hyatt Regency Austin is in a prime spot in the heart of the city. Overlooking Lady Bird Lake, the highrise hotel is a favorite with both business and leisure travelers for its proximity to multiple Austin hot spots. The property has over 27,000 feet of its own meeting and event spaces, so business travelers often bunk here to do business by day and explore the city at night and leisure travelers can celebrate into the wee hours in the self-proclaimed “Live Music Capital of the World.”
The hotel itself is modern and contemporary in a corporate kind of way. There’s a soaring atrium lobby and lots of earth tones in the common areas and rooms; in short, it’s what you’d expect from a Hyatt Regency. The biggest perk to staying here is the location. The Palmer Events Center is a 10-minute walk west of the hotel and the Austin Convention Center is a ten minute drive north. The 10-mile Hike and Bike Trail passes by the hotel’s front door.
For a social media post-worthy experience, check out the evening view from the Congress Street Bridge, adjacent to the hotel and informally known as the Bat Bridge for housing North America’s largest bat colony in its nooks and crannies. Upgrade to a lakeview room and watch over a million bats take flight nightly in their dinner quest, then head out to find your own sustenance.
Austin is known as a foodie town with Tex-Mex cuisine galore. A 10-minute drive south of the hotel is the bustling south of Congress area, locally known as SoCo. The area is teeming with bars, clubs, quirky shops and eateries. After you’d had your fill, head back to the hotel for a nightcap on the onsite lounge overlooking the lake.
