The luxurious Kerry Hotel, Beijing is well located in the central business district, and seven kilometres from The Forbidden City and Palace Museum. Its sheer size is impressive -- there are 486 bedrooms here -- although perhaps the hotel’s stand-out feature is its focus on sports.
The 7000 square-metre sports centre is Beijing’s largest complex, and includes tennis, badminton and basketball courts, as well as an outdoor jogging track, a 35-metre indoor pool, Jacuzzi and state-of-the-art gym equipment. But foodies are just as well catered for as sports enthusiasts, thanks to the hotel’s gourmet restaurants (including one that specialises in Cantonese cuisine), a contemporary cocktail bar with live entertainment and a trendy wine bar. Other facilities include a hair and beauty salon, and parking (a fee applies). Guests can take in some of the best views of the city from the hotel’s rooftop garden.
The high-ceilinged rooms and suites range from 34 to 52 square metre, and feature contemporary décor, with wood furnishings and marble bathrooms. The large windows offer skyline views, with the iconic CCTV Tower clearly visible from here. All have free Wi-Fi, 40-inch flat-screen TVs with cable while upgraded Club rooms have access to the special Club lounge. Club facilities include free breakfast and a separate check-in location.
