From London Heathrow Airport, take the Piccadilly Tube line direct to Leicester Square. The journey should take about 55 minutes, and the station is a 5-minute walk from the hotel along Upper St Martin's Lane. From Gatwick Airport, take the Gatwick Express to London Victoria Station (about 30 minutes; costs £22 one way) and change for the Victoria line to Green Park, before changing for the Piccadilly line to Leicester Square.
A taxi should take around half an hour from Heathrow and 50 minutes from Gatwick, costing between £65-£85 and £120-£140 each way, respectively.
If you're coming to London to shop or sightsee in the West End, the location of the Radisson Blu Mercer Street really can't be beaten. It's in the trendy Seven Dials area of Covent Garden, opposite the Cambridge Theatre (currently showing "Matilda the Musical") and is within 10 minutes' walk of the Royal Opera House, the West End, Jubilee Market, Soho, Oxford Street and Trafalgar Square (home to Nelson's Column and the National Gallery).
Further afield, Westminster and Big Ben, the London Eye, the National Theatre and the London Aquarium are an easily walkable 30 minutes away. Alternatively, Leicester Square Tube station is a 5-minute walk, with links to the Piccadilly and Northern lines.
The hotel has a boutique British atmosphere, with a smartly dressed doorman and chic décor throughout. The bedrooms and suites were refurbished in 2011 and now feature padded, hot pink- and green-accented leather-finish feature walls, designer Italian chairs and Sicilian marble bathrooms. They all come with tea- and coffee-making facilities, free water and Wi-Fi, and bathrobes and a turndown bed service are also available. Upgrade to a Superior Room or up to Luxury Suite for more space (including separate lounge/dressing areas), a mini fridge and views of Seven Dials. All guests get free use of a fitness room in the basement (open 24 hours a day), and relaxing in-room spa treatments are available on request.
The on-site Scoff & Banter Bar and Restaurant serves classic British fare all day, starting with a buffet breakfast in the morning. In the afternoon, there is a themed afternoon tea from 2-5pm in honour of "Matilda the Musical", where every child receives a free copy of Roald Dahl’s classic book. Look out for the lemonade jelly shots with candied newts.

We went to see Harry Potter and the Cursed Child in the Palace theater and this hotel was just down the street. Lots of great places to eat around, easy walk to subways and museums, great location. Staff was very efficient and welcoming. Room was well appointed with a comfortable bed, and everything we needed. A very pleasant stay. We would stay here again. Very happening area!
